A Sage is reputed to have stopped a fight between two sisters, who turned out to be the Goddesses Lakshmi and Jyestha. They asked him to determine which of them was more beautiful. Not wanting to offend either sister, he had them parade back and forth, and finally determined: " Lakshmi, the younger sister, looks more beautiful when she approaches me, but Jyestha is more beautiful when she is departing from me.
