Om Har Shri Nath

 

This Rudrashatak burns sin and greatest of offences such as fanaticism

and those committed knowingly or unknowingly againt saints, Guru,

brahmins and scriptures and it purifies the mind of such faults and

gives pure bhakti of God.One should recite it with complete reverence

to Guru and God.If one doesnt have a guru he or she should recite it

keeping in mind that God is his /her guru.

 

Gurur brahma gurur Vishnu Guru devo Maheshwaraya Gurur Sakshaat

parbrahmn tasmaye shri guruve namah

 

Om Namami shami shan nirvan rupam vibhum vyaapakam brahmn vedam svarupam

nijam nirgunam nirvikalpam niriham chidakash makash vasam bhajeham

 

O moksha personified ,pervading brahmn and veda personified ,the lord

of ishan disha(direction)and everyones lord and master Shiva.My

obesiances unto you.Nijswarup(free from maya/illusion), away from the

gunas/modes of nature, undistinguishable, free from desires,

consciousness , digambar wearing the aakash/sky as garments I chant and

remember you

 

Nirakar monkar mulam turiyam gira gyan gotitmisham girisham

karalam mahakal kalam kripalam gunahgar sansar param natoham

 

The one who has no form, the basis/origin of the omkara, away from the

three gunas/modes of material nature, away from words, knowledge and

the senses, The lord of Kailash, whose form causes fear and reverence

in heart, the kaal(time/death) of mahakaal,the bestower of grace, the

residing place of all virtues,away from the samsaara/world ,

parameshwar I pay my obesiances unto you

 

Tusharadri sankash gauram gambhiram manobhut koti prabha shri shariram

sfarnmauli kalolini charuganga lasadbhal balendu kanthe bhujanga

 

The one who is fair and grave like the Himachal mountain,The one whose

body has the grace,effulgence and beauty of millions of kamadevas, upon

whose head is the pious river Ganga, upon whose head is the crescent

moon, and around the neck lies a serpent enhancing his beauty

 

Chalatkundalam bhru sunetram vishalam prasannanam nil kantham dayalam

mrigadhish charmambaram mundmalam priyam shankaram sarvanatham bhajami

 

The one in whose ears/lobes kundals are moving,has beautiful eyebrows

and large eyes,the one who has a cheerful face ,is blue necked and

merciful, wears the garment made of lion's skin,and wears a garland of

heads,to him who is the dearest to all and is the lord and master of

all , the one who acts in welfare of all, I chant and remember Shri

Shankar ji

 

Prachandam prakashtam pragalbham paresham akhandam ajam bhanukoti

prakasham prayam shula nirmulam shulpaani bhajeham Bhavani pati

bhavgamyam

Rudrarup, best, one who has great opulence,parameshwar, eternal,

unborn, effulgent like a million suns,the done who dissipates the three

types of shula/sorrows, the one who has trident in his hand, the one

who can be got only through bhava and love,the husband of Maa Bhavani,

I chant you Shri Shankar

 

kalatit kalyan kalpantkari sada sachidanan data purari chidanand

sandoham mohapari praside praside prabho manmathari

 

the one who is away from kalas/rays,the one who is welfare

personified,, the one who causes pralaya/dissolution of world,the one

who gives bliss to the good ,the one who is enemy of Tripur,the one who

gives true and eternal bliss,the one who takes away moha, the one who

churns the heart,the enemy of kamdeva, o lord be hapopy with me, be
