The scriptures say "Kings will die and kingdomes will fall when Shani enters Rohini". Last time it entered Rohini on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:date Year="2001" Day="22" Month="5">22nd May 2001</st1:date>. On the night of <st1:date Year="2001" Day="1" Month="6">1st June 2001</st1:date> the entire Royal family of <st1:country-region><st1:place>Nepal</st1:place></st1:country-region> was wiped out. It was followed by the death of the Indian Congress minister and Raja of Gwalior Sri Madhav Rao Scindia on <st1:date Year="2001" Day="30" Month="9">30th September 2001</st1:date> in a plane crash. Then came the <st1:date Year="2001" Day="11" Month="9">9-11-2001</st1:date> strike by Osama Bin Laden. It is said that during the reign of king Dasaratha when Shani was about to enter Rohini Nakshatra, king Dasaratha worshipped Shani and pleased with his prayers Saturn did not enter Rohini during the reign of king Dasharatha. Hence the Dasaratha Shani stotras are considered an excellent remedy for Saturn related troubles. The following is from Skanda Purana.
