tackleberry Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Is there an online dic., where one can type a word in sanskrit so it can give an equivalent English word? Also, in other dictionaries, how to find the word we're looking for, when there are so many? Quote
pokoya Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 To answer your question, no. The online resources I have come across, do not take the Sanskrit word in Devangari script. You have to convert it into a transliteration code. That is, the Sanskrit script is represented, by convention, an English letter, or combination of letters...so that अ is "a", and आ is "A".....The translation service you use will usually have the transliteration table they use posted near by. tackleberry Posted March 28, 2008 Author Report Posted March 28, 2008 No, I meant transliteration, it doesn't have to be in devanagari script. Quote
Shoyonika Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 type as I will instruct you as I cannot post a URL link double-u double-u double-u dot spokensanskrit dot de and dont leave any spaces between them. See if this can help. Quote
