Liver Function Test.

A friend of mine has undergone the above said test. From the report, we are not able to understand the following tests: S G O T (A S T) and S G P T (A L T) I request that this may be clarified and the possible ayurvedic cures.

these are just the names of different liver enzymes:

 

SGOT: Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase, also known as

AST: Aspartate Aminotransferase

 

SGPT: Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase, also known as

ALT: Alanine Aminotransferase

 

they are usually increased (higher than normal) in liver inflammation and other diseases

 

taken alone they are pretty much useless to an ayurvedic practitioner

we need to know signs and symptoms
