It is always a good idea to give the name of city etc rather than

just give the 'tudes since even atlases vary somewhat. In fact in

some software (like Geovision product) even if you plug in names it

sometimes gives several options! Sometimes it is due to cities of

same name in different states and at other times because the

programmer did not have the time to check all variations that exist.

Software using atlases like ACS are less variable but even there a

few errors may exist. Hence it is safe to give the city/village,

state/province and country. Sometimes when village is small it is

good to indicate that it was x miles north of a larger town. Most

astrologers should have a regular hardcopy atlas and would be able to

calculate visually even if their software does not have it.

 

Secondly, when the time of birth is not original and doctored, it

should be clearly stated and the original birthdata also included.

 

You would be surprised how many experienced astrologers make these

same omissions in their writings and educational articles. If you do

not believe me, read any of the astrological magazines!
