wanted to know if the potency is affected etc.

Hi Jay

search the answer in concluding para in message:

http://health.ayurveda/message/3670

answer applies to most herbs for blood purification, which are better

taken in the decoction form. the potency is best if taken in warm

condition itself, just after removing from fire.

an alternative (less preferred by Vaidyas) would be to take

Brihat Manjistha Ghanwati 2 tabs 125 mg each with water/honey, twice a day, after breakfast and dinner.

In a western country you say "it is a pain to make this every day".

You should be suprised that most western herbalists recommend making

teas from herbs and taking them thrice a day, especially the herbs

addressing

peri and post menopause, infertility problems. And no woman has ever complained of "pain" in making teas/decoctions.

While ayurveda recommends taking only stream or potted water using earthen/copper

pots, how one can think of refrigerator? bio-availability is greatest

in natural spring or copper water. For a seriously ill person,

ayurveda recommends boiling water till it remains to 1/4 or 1/8 part.

such a precious energised water will loose all bio-availability

within a short time if stored in fridge. Take equal quantity of these

two waters at same time on two successive days and find which causes

earlier vist to wash room or gives more thirst.

There are medicines which take even 40 days to make them. Even in

modern time, the ayurvedic aasavas take that much time. They are not

alcoholioc tinctures made by pharmacies, but rather they contain

natural alcohol. Unless someone has patience to make such a

medicine, how a patient will reap the benifit?

Boiling at least does not involve any human labour. Most effective

medicine is fresh plant/fruit juices, the extraction by manual process is

much laborious, but the end result is cancer cure!

hiii jay, my name is dr.pankaj and i am practising ayurveda in south

africa. well the decoction of manjishtha is to be made fresh bcos it

can not be stored in fridge and certainly the potency will diminish.

this is the ideal condition. well in which country u r staying?

if u can get the prepared mahamanjisthadi kashay which is available

in market it will serve the same purpose. it has natural alcohol as

a preservative and can be stored for long without wasting potency.

i hope this will solve ur problem.

regards, dr.pankaj.
