Guest guest
Dear Rafal Gendarz and Other Friends, The difference in longitudes of True and Mean Nodes may be as high as 1deg. 45 min. Whenever, Sun comes on the axis of nodes , the dif. in log. tends to become zero, and when Sun is at angles to Nodes , the dif. tends becomes max. in True and mean Nodes. When the dif. in long. is more , the Moon will try to switch Char- Karktwa with Rahu frequently ( of course also with other planets but not so frequently) I have observed over long period that True Rahu gives better results in this respect. Ive shown this in my research paper on Vargottama ,( this paper was already published in Jyotish digest - in which I recommended the use of true Rahu and true Ccitrapakshya Ayanamsa- Lahiri's Ayanamsa is based on star citra but does not use citra as reference point..This is the reason the long. of Star Citra is given in Lahiris Ephemeris as179deg.59min.03sec. and not 180deg..Thus Lahiris's Ayanamsa should be deducted by 57sec. to obtain true Ayanamsa based on Star Citra FOR THE YEAR 2007.) I suggest more research should be done on the adoption of either true or mean or both values of nodes. My Ak would be Rahu if I take mean nodes. If I take true node, my Ak will be Moon. I presume taking true nodes is the correct appraoch. Please confirm. If Moon is my Ak, I have no planets in the 12th house from Moon in D9. The lord of that (12th from Moon) is Sun. Hence, can I conclude that Rama is my Ishta Devata? Guest guest
hraum namah adityaya Dear Gopal G, Namaskar Thank You for Your notes. We use nodes in true position for eclipses and mean position for natal/prasna readings. This is important point coming from fact that nodes are alwyas vakri as they represent karmic bond/release. I also had many charts when nodes true position doesnt fit at all, so that should be corrected in analysis. I also paste Sanjay Rath note on that: "The term TRUE used for TRUE nodes is a misnomer as these are merely mathematical points based on the intersection of the plane of the motion of the Moon (around the earth) and the earth (around the Sun). The principle to be used for the mathematical derivation is the important criteria and as Narasimha as already mentioned, the fact of their constant retrogression is the Jyotish principle enunciated by the Maharishi's. Thus if we were to apply this requirement that Rahu and Ketu must be retrograde all the time, then the calculations used for what is called TRUE NODE is incorrect as you will find them direct sometimes and retrograde at other times. Instead using MEAN NODES we find them to be retrograde all the time and this is advisable for use. Now coming to the Charakaraka Question, this will also depend on the Ayanamsa used in addition. Using Lahiri ayanamsa, we find Rahu becoming the Darakaraka. Use this for the present until that day when SJVC is able to sponsor a study into Ayanamsa and arrive at a very good result. Lahiri seems to be the closest so far."
