Dear SriVishnavites,

Not only Vaishnava Community, every Religious and Spiritual

minded person were Furious about this issue and Attack at

Ayodhya Mandapam.

However, a particular Political Party people, protest

against this issue, conformed the statue is not going to

re-place somewhere. Already, Idols has been destroyed from

some temples.further, if they proceed, definitely we need to

sacrifice many Human-Lives.

Periyar is an Atheistic. He illtreated Brahmin Community.

Once, he made the chappals as a garland and wored it to

Lord Rama at salem. He as done Lots and Lots of Sins.

Definitely, he would have Re-born again in this Karma Bhoombi,

suffering somewhere in a corner.

Why, Lets us think Lord Has created him as a STONE.

Wherever, we go Violence are Floating in the country. we

are Helpless. need to compromise and move towards Aghimsa

path.

WHEREVER VICE PREVAILS AND VIRTUE SUBTILES I WILL COME DOWN

TO HELP THE MANKIND;

Has Lord said in GITA' surely He will come down for help.

Please, pardon me if u feel my statement is wrong.

regards

vijayalakshmi s.

Dear Friends,

With so many incidents which have happened, why our Vaishnava acharyas did not say anything about this Statue issue? Or did i miss the news? Srirangam is a holy place for all hindus but it is special for Sri Vaishnavaites. What is their view on this? Has any of the vaishnava madams taken any legal or any other action till now for last 30+ years? If anyone has any news on this, please share.

Dear Friend, Vaishnava acharyas or even saiva acharyas or other spiritual institutions have no powers or support from mass to even to question or raise the matter happening outside the temple. All temples are administered by HRCE board controlled by the Government and dravidian parties. Therefore it is their sole responsibility to protect the sanctity and sentiment of the bakthas. They also are suposed to know what is good and what is bad being rationalist. Therefore it is better to leave things to them in whatever fashion the country is to be run. Unlike in christian or muslim religion in which religious leaders enjoy powers and even to interfere in their social disputes out of cour we do not have such system in indian religions. Hence I think there is no use of blaming acharyas inthis matter

Jai sri krishna

In my opinion holy places like Srirangam, ThiruVenkatam and Vraj Bhumi have no other purpose other than being the Dhama of the Supreme Lord. It is therefore highly offensive to have Statues of beings other than the lord and his bhaktas in such places. Bharat is a land of freedom of political speech and expression but the Holy Dham should remain as a place where Bhagavathas can Seek shelter from the material world.

Therefore with this issue of EVR's statues, the Bhagavathas serving Srirangam dham should protect the Dham thus without hesitation the EVR statue should be removed. No permission from government is needed, their only business is to protect the sanctity of the Dham. With this mood of service why should our Dharmacharays need to speak on these issues???? It is the duty of all of us to protect Dharma, sanyasis remain aloof from politics and alike for good reasons and is the job of the Grihastas and other lay persons to involve in secular/politcal issues. If there is rubish in our homes we without hesitation remove that rubish, do we blame our Acharays when when we have rubish in our homes?????? NO!! The Holy DHama of Srirangam, is like our home and we should take steps to preserve it without hesitation and not put all responsibility to our Acharayas. Let us bear in mind that other religions enjoy the right to protect their holy places, for examples non-muslims cannot

set foot in Mecca. We Hindus should not turn voilent but we should NOT remain silent or passive.

In this forum various opinions have been presented about this 'statue' issue. Most of the emails are basically emotional than practical. Obviously, majority of them are against having the statue. Adiyen also belong to the same group. But, how are we going to prevent these things happening? Adiyen is not aware of any instructions or plans from our Acharyas, or Temple Administrators, or powerful Bhagavathas living in and around these temple towns. Since, India being a 'secular' country, in the view of the Goverment 'Atheists' and 'believers' have equal rights. We are fighting against fully politically minded atheist government on the one hand and atheist aggressors on the other hand whose only language is violence. So, where does this leave us in? It is easy to say "without hesitation the EVR statue should be removed. No permission from government is needed, their only business is to protect the sanctity of the Dham". But reality is light years away from such simple

expectations. Please be aware that the current goverment recently sanctioned 96 Laks (9.6 Million) rupees for a movie on EVR and also gave a tax-free status on that movie which is yet to come. This is an obvious example as to who we are up against.

Bhagavathas in this forum should come with practical ideas with the current political situation in Tamil Nadu, especially in Sri Rangam in mind.

Some of my suggestions are as follows: (non-violent)

1. We should immediately start a signature campaign and send it to the President of India to express our solidarity and the mass behind this requirement. How can we do this?

2. We should start a campaign to form a law where in a certain area (like 5 KM) surrounding a temple (or any religious institution for that matter) must be declared as protected area and that area is fully administered by heads of that religion or faith. If we can declare an atomic plant or a steel plant protected area, why not temples?

3. Make every divya desam strong by sharing wealth from richer temples to all other poor temples. Thirupathi itself could make 1008 Divyadesams prosper.

4. All SriVaishnavas should be educated in an enormous way (in simple Thamizh to begin with)

5. Spread our concepts every nook and corner in a non-violent way

6. Our religious heads should be more public and proactive than passive and conservative.

This list can go on..

Kindly apologize adiyen for all my mistakes.

Dear Shri Satagopan,

I agree with your statement but eventhough it is external to the temple, it is in front of the temple. Let us think broadly on:

1) Why government dare to do these things only to Hindus even though we are majority?

2) Why government went ahead to ban Satanic verses before Pakisthan or Saudi arabia?

3) Why government is giving subsidy to Haj Pilgrims when subsidy is unislamic?

4) Why government banned Da Vinci Code initially to be screened?

5) Why cheap teleserials and Film shootings take place in Temples only?

Answer for all the above is "Lack of Unity in our soceity". If they get the feeling of losing hindu votes, then they wont dare to do all these.

Regarding stand of Vaishnava & Saiva acharyas, I beg to differ with above same point. Our divisions of Vadakalai or Thenkalai in our Vaishnavam or other Saiva divisions are based on philosophy. It should not be shown out or should be a hindering aspect for unifying people in soceity. If all acharyas unite and give a joint statement against government, then we can see a change. Please note that each of our madams have enough sishyaas. With current differences what we show internally, government is damn sure that even Thenkalai or Vadakalai madathipathis wont even meet together for any of their internal issues.

Let us force our Acharyas thru our channels to launch a Joint forum for Vaishnavas & Saivas and meet regularly on key Public & Temple related issues. Lack of common public meetings by our Acharyas bring the gap between the common man & religion. This is the proven strategy practised by our Great Acharya Srimad Ramanuja..!!

Nanmaaran

I think this is the best of the posts that I had ever seen so far:).

The statements speak everything that we must exactly do at this point

in time in such a society.
