Surya is well placed in the 9th as 9th lord, conjunct 5th lord Kuja. He is also strongly aspected by Lagnadipati Guru from Lagna. Unfortunately, this stone is less than the prescribed 2.5 carats--but my jeweller, whom I trust, told me that it is flawless. I shall advice my friend to wear it on the ring finger--or, as a second option, to wear it on a necklace. Due to their (relative) position in Rasi (10/5) their relationship is neutral...not good, not bad...so no harm there. However 5th lord Mars becomes even more overpowered, doesn't he. Let's see how this pans out during Mars PD beginning 5th Dec?? His moolatrikona, 5th house of progeny, is 11th from 7th--gains of spouse etc.. BTW, Wendy ji, this being Karthika Masa (Surya in Vrichaka), a lot of people light lamps in temples. One of them is a friend, also called Balaji, who is also interested in Jyotish. He recently told me that he hoped that I get married to a person who likes religion like me, and is also a writer. >From my chart, seeing from the 7th (Dhanur Lagna), I find 10th lord in the 3rd aspected by 3rd lord, and the lord of the 9th house of religion occupying the 4th house of happiness--so, I think that I will indeed be marrying somebody who is both religious and a writer!
