During Amavasya the people offer food or prasadam to the crows. and if the crows accept the food which we are offering to them then the people are believing that our ancesters have accepted the food and it's also believed that the ancestors will get liberation or get out of the pitur lokha.Is this true?or its lame believe that they are our ancesters? Is there any link between Crows and ancesters. Is the crows are our ancesters? The poeple of tamilnadu believe this and they are following this and i dont know about the other people. and please clarify this doubt so that this gives anwsers to those who lamely believe?

Birds are sometimes seen as a conduit to the ancestors (pitris) just like fire is a conduit to the demigods (devas). What goes into sacrificial fire comes out in the realm of the demigods. In that case, whatever crows eat, comes out in the realm of the pitris. It is a very subtle process.
