Sub: Regarding Just a Minute - A Global Peace Initiative, to be held all over the World

On 17th Sept 2006, Just A Minute – A Global Peace Initiative will be launched by BKWSU at Wembley Arena, London. BKWSU is a Non Governmental Organisation affiliated to UNO, working for the cause of world peace. 105 other cities of the world including New York, Sao Paulo, Nairobi, London, Moscow, New Delhi and Sydney, will hold the programs simultaneously to support this event.

An individual can be the part of the project by:

Practicing J-A-M for the self and feel the difference in your life

Promoting J-A-M among your family, friends and work colleagues

Supporting J-A-M with your ideas and resources

Hundreds of thousands around the world will join in virtually on 17th September via the Internet. The whole event will be web cast live at www.just-a-minute.org and wherever they are in the world, people can link up for the one-minute wave of peace. All they need to do is register on the just-a-minute website and their locations will light up on a vast world map visible at Wembley Arena, the main base for this event, where over 12000 people will be gathered.

We are happy to inform you that the launch event will also be dedicated to United Nations International Day of Peace.

‘WHAT’S HAPPENING’

Some of the events that are happening around the world … really inspiring!

Many countries are donating yoga power by holding special meditations

throughout and at the link up time!

· ARGENTINA: Argentina’s top ballet dancer performing at the largest theatre in Buenos Aires and one year publicity campaign with top advertisers to support just-a-minute.

· AUSTRALIA: Concert at the Wilton Retreat Centre.

· BRAZIL: Famous artists and sports personalities at an event in Rio de Janeiro (in

partnership with UNESCO). In Sao Paulo, an event with street children and in Belo

Horizonte, the j-a-m animation will be shown in cinemas.

· BURKINA FASO: A 3 day programme dedicated to the International Day of Peace,

including a Peace March, an exhibition on Peace and experiencing Peace.

· CANADA: A 'party in silence' in Halifax, followed by a radio call-in show interviewing people on their experience with silence.

· COLOMBIA: Peace Festival in a park in Bogota with a large screen for the live webcast of the Wembley launch. It includes personalities sharing about the silence, an exhibition, virtuescope, songs, a one-minute meditation space, a health group giving info on meditation and health.

· FRANCE: Producing short films to promote j-a-m with a tinge of Gallic humour!

· FIJI: just-a-minute Peace Vigil on Peace, Love and Hope (Pre Wembley)

· GREECE: Musical concert with well-known local musicians.

· ICELAND: Promotion of just-a-minute on National TV and announcement on the News

· INDIA: Nationwide youth rallies will observe the global minute of silence.

· ISRAEL: Gathering of 100 near Tel Aviv to watch Wembley live. On-going workshops on the Gift within Silence.

· JAMAICA: All the churches have been invited to observe a minute silence during

services for just-a-minute.

· JAPAN: Gathering in front of the Peace Memorial Museum in Hiroshima with paper

crane making (peace symbol in Japan) in the Peace Park. Workshops on just-a-minute in Fukuyama. Tokyo group linking in with Wembley!

· MAURITIUS: Large event to be broadcast on local television and a mega publicity

campaign to support the on-going just-a-minute campaign.

· NEW ZEALAND: Tuning-in to Wembley at 2:30am!

· PANAMA: Peace Parade with just-a-minute t-shirts, concluding with a musical concert and Wembley webcast.

· PERU: Week long Images and Voices of Peace Festival with 2,000 cyclists, artists and in schools

· PHILIPPINES: Concert in a sunken garden.

· RUSSIA: A well-known author (‘Golden Pen of Russia’) will share on how creativity is born out of silence at an event in Moscow, also including song, dance and meditation.

· SPAIN: 8 events throughout the country – two pre-Wembley and 6 simultaneous –

gathering 4000 people around just-a-minute!

· UK: Isle of Man ‘fayre’ launched by local broadcaster
