I agree that some people may like taking oath on Ramayana more than on BG. But still I feel such issues should not be brought in court for the following reasons:-

1. Even those Hindus who like Ramayana more than BG, like BG nevertheless. They may not like BG as much as Ramayana, but it does not mean that they hate BG. So, they should have no problem in taking oath on BG though they might consider it better to take oath on Ramayana.

2. If the court starts making provisions for including other books like Ramayana, Vedas etc., then where will the list stop? Some people may claim that they want books written by guru to be introduced in courts. The list will be endless.

3. This is the most important. In India, there are many cases, which have been dragging for years. There have been cases in which a person was sued for some crime. The case dragged for many years. The number of years he spent behind bars was more than he should have spent as per law even if he had really committed the crime. Not only this, there have also been cases in which after spending a few years behind bars, a person was declared innocent. Fine, he was declared innocent. But who is going to return him all those years during which he was imprisoned?

When there are such cases, then there is no use wasting court's time by bringing up cases to discuss whether other scriptures should be allowed or not.
