Guest guest
Dear List, I read recently in a SJC class transcript of Sanjay Rath, that if one is experiencing delays in attracting a suitable spouse, one should worship Upapada,ie. the lord of the sign containing Upapada (Adi devata) or, if there is a planet in Upapada, then that planet should be worshipped (pratyadhi devata). Is this understanding correct? Also, what do we do in a situation where the person is seeking to re- marry after a divorce? Do we still worship as above, or do we then go to the 8th from Upapada? Guest guest
HARE RAMA KRISHNA Dera Raja, you should worship the lord of UL, that means you should perform fast on the day of concerned planet, and it is always fast on that day for first or third spouse. Guest guest
Dear Bojan and fellow list members, Thank you for clarification. I was listening to the same lecture not too long ago and it also says that for men worship gauri ie female deity and for women to worship vishu, ie male deity. Now what about if the day is Friday? Then for men with UL in Libra or Taurus it would be Lakshmi but lecture also says not as Lakshmi till after marraige, before marriage as Gauri/Parvati. So then who? And what about womens? For UL in Libra or Taurus? What is adi male devata to dedicate the Friday fast to? Thanking you for help. Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Jyotisha, Namaste. Upapada is an interesting question. I have not seen rules for jumping to the 8th from Upapada in the Rasi chart. At least Jamini does not mention it. In practical experience I also did not see this rule working. Perhaps this is because the Rasi chart has so many indications, as well as the Upapada has multiple meanings. My experience shoiws however that the 7th in Navamsha would indicate the first marriage, and jumping 8 from there you get to the successive marriages. You can counter-chek this by comparing the 7th in Navamsa in the native's chart with the lagna of his or her spouse. Some link should be there. Then get to the next one. So I suggest applying remedies to the 2nd in Navamsa (8th from the 7th house). I also usually recommend general upayas for the Upapada, aven if someone wants to have a second marriage. The best remedy is to fast on the day lorded by the lord of the Upapada.
