Guest guest
"Aum Namah Shivaya" Forgive me for imposing but is the reference to sandalwood oil a reference to pure essential sandalwood oil which requires mixing in a base oil such as almond or olive oil or is there some form of sandalwood oil that can be used direct, that is without mixing with any other oil? Many thanks. Guest guest
DD JI what do you mean here by "for cooling the beads, use Olive Oil"? Sorry I did not understand. I generally wash my rudraksha beads with water and use a soft brush as told earlier on this group. and I dip them overnight in Mustard Oil. Do I need to do something else also Please clarify Regards Deven AumShiningLotus (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: Dear Yung Ji If you can find an Indian Grocery store there they will most likely have mustard oil.....if not almond oil is OK and to cool the beads down you can also use olive oil until you get back to you sandlewood oil........most any seed or nut oil will work hope this helps DD In a message dated 6/14/2006 9:59:51 AM Pacific Standard Time, yung31 (AT) pd (DOT) jaring.my writes: Dear DD, I am at Ireland now and I forget to bring my sandalwood oil with me, is there any other of the oil can be use for the Rudrakshas? Guest guest
Dear Deven Ji Namaskar and thank you for your message..........there are hot oils and there are cool oils that have a neutralizeing effect on the Holy Rudraksha Beads........in a strict Sadhana the hot mustard oil is traditionally used however this is used mostly when a wearer of the Holy Rudraksha has all the time in one day to commit to the Sadhana..........If a person is a householder they have a choice on what oil they wish to use......olive oil is a cooling oil as is almond oil and when used with the Holy Rudraksha will create a smooth transition from one space to another in the realm of time and space.....the realm of Akasha....and its effect on the life of the mankind and womankind...........when the mustard oil is used the Holy Rudraksha do their work without any delay and the wearer needs to be aware of this.....is simply another way to enhance the effects of the Holy Rudraksha by useing the traditional Mustard oil however the householeder needs to remember that the mustard oil is used by ascetics in the forest where there is no distraction from Sadhana...........householders may do well by useing the pure sandlewood oil from Rudra Center or the almond or olive oil if they are not constantly in the flow of Brahman with daily Sadhana hope this helps Rudra Center America DD In a message dated 6/15/2006 5:58:39 PM Pacific Standard Time, chopradeven81 (AT) (DOT) co.in writes: > > > DD JI > > what do you mean here by "for cooling the beads, use Olive Oil"? > > Sorry I did not understand. > > I generally wash my rudraksha beads with water and use a soft brush as told > earlier on this group. > > and I dip them overnight in Mustard Oil. > > Do I need to do something else also > > Please clarify > > Regards > > Deven > > AumShiningLotus (AT) aol (DOT) com wrote: > >> Dear Yung Ji >> >> If you can find an Indian Grocery store there they will most likely have >> mustard oil.....if not almond oil is OK and to cool the beads down you can >> also use olive oil until you get back to you sandlewood oil........most any >> seed or nut oil will work >> >> hope this helps >> >> DD >> >> In a message dated 6/14/2006 9:59:51 AM Pacific Standard Time, >> yung31 (AT) pd (DOT) jaring.my writes: >> >> >>> >>> >>> >> >> Dear DD, >> I am at Ireland now and I forget to bring my sandalwood oil with me, is >> there any other of the oil can be use for the Rudrakshas? Guest guest
Dear DD, Thank you for your response. The reason I ask is that sandalwood oil, and other essential oils, are sold here in the UK in a concentrated form and is available in very small quantities such as 5ml or 10ml; it is also very expensive. These are known as pure essential oils and used largely in aromatherapy. Whilst it is described as an oil, it does not actually have the characteristics of oil and it is in fact the essence of the plant from which it is obtained and needs to be mixed with a base oil for use on the skin etc. and this is usually sweet almond oil. This is the only form of sandalwood oil that I have been able to procure in the UK and was therefore really asking if other forms are available so that I can widen my search. Hope that this makes sense. With many thanks for your kind attention.
