Is it not fair to say that my last post was an reasonably accurate summary of the various interpretations of the word "buddhi"? If my memory serves me correctly, in the mahabharata, the word is frequently mentioned in praise/criticism of Yudhishthira in most of the above contexts , both positive and negative, the negative case (cunning) being during the "Ashwaththamaa hatah (*cough* itigaja *cough) " business.
