Friends: Did you see the results of the final exams of the high

school+2 performance in TamilNadu? The rank, first in the state, should

have gone to the student, Kaavyaa of the Ahobila mutt oriental school

of West Mambalam, for securing 1186 out of 1200. She was denied this

title becuase she chose Sanskrit. Instead it went to another student of

a different school who secured 1180 but chose Tamil. You know the rest

of the story.

For me it makes not difference this time, for both the position 1186 and

1180 for tamil, both are bagged by Brahmins.

One had Vaishnav schooling, and the other is vaishnav by birth.

Now the options thrown to me looks like choose between both your eyes.

I choose both eyes.

Kaavya does not carries any regrets for choosing Sanskrit nor missing state

ranking, it seems. On the other hand, Barathram, as I know him in person,

still believes honestly he is ranked second

Thanks and regards

Indeed its Atrocious--Now WE shd set up some endowment to give PRIZES to

students who get RANKS with Sanskrit

Surely the School must DO /take ACTION on same

Well thats life as a true Vaishnavite we take it as GODS way of doing things

BUT most certainly its ultimately will RESULT in more positive things

My fellow list members at "Oppiliappan",

Namaskarams.

The following are some of the options the Oppiliappan list members can do.

1. Let the moderator collect funds from the willing members who would want to voluntarily send an amount of money as a gift to Sow Kaavyaa. This writer would be happy to send a hundred dollars. If we could send some amount upward of at least One lakh rupees, Kaavyaa not only would receive a nice monetary gift but would be proud to be supported by so many sanskrit lovers from around the world. This recognition from us will partially offset her disappointment.

2. Our moderator may write a letter to the President of India, with a copy to the Prime Minister, the Human Resource Minister, the Chief Justice of India and Sri Vajpayee, in which the injustice done to the gretest language of India should be highlighted and it is to be 'co-signed' by all the list members who agree to put their names on. The barbaric insult of Sanskrit is an insult to the entire nation and her cherished culture. WHAT IS AT STAKE HERE IS THE VERY NATIONAL PRIDE..

For full disclosure, I am a direct disciple of U.Ve.Sri Sri N. Srinivasachari, the founder of the Ahobila Mutt School. He is 102 and can still coherently explain any philosophical subject with quotes from Sanskrit, Tamil and English lterature.

A truly great 'sthhithapragnya'. He was doing Tharpanam even after his centenary not only for Amavasya days but also for the birth of all tamil months. Like his predecessor at Sri Ramakrishna Mission High School at T.Nagar Sri. Anna N. Subramanian, he has been a strong pillar of support to our religion as well as the great Sanskrit language. An exemplary educationist.

With respects to everyone,

S.P. Krishna Murthy
