Guest guest
Dear Sri Chandrasekhar, As I don't have the necessary Sanskrit font, I was unable to read the shloka properly. However, I checked in Jataka Parijatha again. It is the 59th Shloka in Chapter 7. So I believe we must be talking about the same shloka. I am referring to the Telugu translation by Sri Upadrashta Kameswara Rao published by Gollapudi Veeraswamy Publications, Rajahmundry. Most Telugu based astrologers consider this book as the authentic translation. The translator clearly mentioned that the Mahapurusha Yoga applies from Lagna as well as Chandra. I am reiterating what I wrote before. A planet in strength, in own or exalted house and in Kendra from Moon has its own significations, even though we don't necessarily call it a Maha purusha yoga. The results in such a case are similar to those that are mentioned with respect to the planet in kendra from Lagna. What I mean is that the translators must have experienced such results and hence must have included Chandra lagna also in their translations. That is why in some translations we may see such an interpretation, though not explicitly mentioned in the shloka. When I consider my exalted Budha in kendra from Moon akin to Bhadra Mahapurusha Yoga, I am referring not only to the maha dasha, but also to the physical charateristics and the special marks in the palm. A number of characteristics do match to me. I also do palmistry and therefore attempted to view these marks differentiating them other major and minor lines and their intersections on the palm. After I clearly observed these comparable features, it lead me to believe that the kendra position from Moon also might be sensible, as suggested by some translators. As it is happening with a number of shlokas picked from different classics (which are being researched by knowledged and experienced astrologers these days), I felt it may be sensible to interpret Maha purusha yoga from Moon lagna also even though the original author may not have mentioned explicitly so. I do agree that exalted Mercury gives good results in its dasha, but I strongly consider its kendra position from Moon has added additional strength to exalted Mercury. I hope I clarified my viewpoint, and welcome your opinion. Guest guest
Dear Satya, It is unfortunate that you do not have Sanskrit fonts. Otherwise you could have read the original Sanskrit shloka and agreed to the translation given. If you read the transliterated portion in roman script, you may be able to understand what is written in the shloka. Not being conversant with Telugu, I will not be able to comment on the translation of Mr. Kameshwara. The topic was Maha Purusha yoga and whether classics say that the yoga is also to be seen from Kendra from Chandra or not. My comments are limited to that part only. What Jataka Parijata mentions is very clear. As to whether grahas in Kendra from Chandra are of significance or not is a different matter. Since One can look at a chart from the strongest amongst Surya, Chandra and Lagna, and graha in Kendra from either of them, and with strength, will act as Paraspara karaka for the respective lagnas and help deliver results of that lagna to the fullest. Whether the results would be similar to Mahapurusha yoga is a matter that is not known. If we look at Amala yoga, I think its results indicates that they would not be so as Amala yoga arises when a graha is placed in 10th bhava from Chandra. Or look at the results of Gajkesari yoga which needs Guru to be in Kendra from Chandra, the results differ from that of Hamsa yoga. This is also one of the reasons that I think Mahapurusha yogas are not to be applied from moon, but only from lagna. Of course, this is my personal opinion and those more knowledgeable than me could hold a different view, on the subject. Chandrashekhar.
