Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya Akshay, As far as I know, Vedic mantras have only one style of chanting - there is nothing south indian or north indian about them. regards, Om Namah Shivaya , "akshay_blizz" <akshay_blizz> wrote: > > hello i have seen that site for online rudram listening but its in > south indian style. can some 1 please suggest any site in which its > available in north indian style ? please it will be a great help > Visit your group "" on the web. Guest guest
i think then u dont have enough knowledge about it i guess .i many of my relatives do Karm Kand so i know about in and as i wos born and in chennai so i know about both north indian and south indian ways . there is a huge diference between them . we usually chant rudram in yajurvedic style . if u see then only u will understand . anywayz for exmaple i can suggest u one audio casette names Sampoorna Rudrabhishek from Tseries . its similar to north indian style . i hope u understand me . and if u stil have doubt then u can refer some north indian person who is involved in Karam Kand . , "mahadevadvaita" <mahadevadvaita> wrote: > > Om Namah Shivaya > Akshay, As far as I know, Vedic mantras have only one style of > chanting - there is nothing south indian or north indian about them. > > regards, > Om Namah Shivaya > > , "akshay_blizz" > <akshay_blizz@> wrote: > > > > hello i have seen that site for online rudram listening but its in > > south indian style. can some 1 please suggest any site in which its > > available in north indian style ? please it will be a great help > > > " on the web. A mantra can be chanted in Gayatri--Anushtup-Trishtup-Jagathi-Bangthi -etc-Chandas(Metre).There might be no difference in the Paatam(Syllables)But there will be difference -depending on which Chandas it is recited . That way there are differences in recitation. In South India(Andra,Karnataka,Tamil Nadu--I do not know about Kerala) Rudraadhyaayi is recited from Taitriya Aaranyakam in Trishtup chandas. In West(Maharashtra-Gujarat,etc) in East(Orissa-West Bengal etc ) and in North -Rajasthan.,U.P.,Bihar.,etc they are recited in different Chandas.Sometimes the syllables themselves differ.Sri.Ayodhya Pande from Banaras(my colleague in Union Health Ministry,Delhi -an excellent Vedic Scholar) used to say that in Banaras- in Sukhla(white)Yajur Veda--Maadhyaanthika-Zaaka-Purusha Sooktham Paatam begins as "Sahasra Zeerkha Purukaha"--in South India in Krishna(Black) Yajur Veda-Taitriya Zaakaa- we recite as "Sahasra Zeersha Purushaha"--sri.Pande used to say the South Indian Paatam is only right-since their Gurus in Banaras have taught them- they would recite as they have been taught only.Even in sri.Rudraadhyaayi--the Kashmir Paatam and the rest of Bharat(India) Pataam are different--in the book published by sri Ramakrishna Matam, Mylapore, Chennai the editor sri "Anna" points out the Kashmir Version (Paata Bhedam) wherever necessary-Somayaji Visit your group "" on the web.
