I am sorry that I could not respond to your earlier posts in this

regard also due to some preoccupations....

There are various methods given for birth time rectification in the

classics of astrology (both Indian and Western).

In Indian classics, the birth time is rectified based on the

assumption that human births are possible ONLY at certain vighatis

(Indian unit of time measure in which 60 ghatis make one solar day).

Again, the vighatis are classified as times in which male births are

possible and vighatis in which female births are possible.....Based

on these, one can get the nearest time available to the furnished

birth time as the rectified time of birth. However, even this has

its pitfalls.......

In Western Astrology, pre-natal epoch methods are advocated. This is

too elaborate to be dealt with in this post. You can read standard

western astrological works written by great authors like Charubel,

Alan Leo, etc. to know about these methods.

Prashna method of rectification can help in ascertaining the correct

lagna of birth if the birth is in the cusp of two lagnas due to which

the native may be confused as to which is their correct lagna. In

fact, using KP method (Ruling Planets theory), an adept can arrive at

fairly accurate birth rectification results.

By looking back at events in life of the individual and using

progression or varga chart transits, we can arrive at a reasonably

accurate birth time.

However, the best thing is to get the birth time noted accurately as

far as possible, because birth rectification by different methods (or

even different astrologers using the same technique at different

times) may vary leading to confusion.

I generally prefer the prashna method combined with the traditional

methods of rectification mentioned at the outset of my post for birth

time rectification if the request comes from my clients.

Blessed be.

Pandit. R.DAKSHINAMOORTHI.
