The sounds as per vedic numerology are different.,

Consonants without vowels attatched to them have no number

There should be a sound , that is a vowel to get a number

For example let us take Panditji

Pa is 1

n is attatched to D thus there is no number

Di-3

Ji-8

Thus the number is 138

For finding its utility, reverse the number

831

Now divide by 12

The remainder is 11

11 corresponds to Kumbha Rasi. Thus Panditji corresponds to the intellectual

Kumba Rasi. It has again to be seen from the natal lagna(kumba rasi from natal

lagna) to see where it affects.

The vedic numerology chart is as follows

(Mars group) ka-1, kha-2, ga-3, gha-4, nya-5

(Venus group) cha-6, chha-7, ja-8, jha-9, inia-0

Mercury Group) ta-1, tha-2, da-3, dha-4, Una-5

Jupiter group) ta-6, tha-7, da-8, dha-8. na-0

Saturn grouo) pa-1, pha-2, ba-3, bha-4, ma-5

Moon group- ya-1, ra-2, la-3, va-4, sha-5, shha-6, sa-7, ha-8

Sun group, all the vowels-no numbers

There are different types of vedic numerology systems, i outlined the famous

Katapayadi varga from Jaimini Sutras

Best wishes
