Parasara gave a lot of importance to Sudarsana Chakra (SC) dasa. He said that all the annual, monthly and daily events from birth to death become crystal clear with it. He said that one can make perfect predictions by combining Ashtakavarga and Sudarsana Chakra dasa. > year for Mr Bush as Kal Amrita yoga is coming for this year btu > sincce I have never understood Kal Sarpa or Amrita yogas properly i > was confused. I tried hard to get Sanjay ji to speak on SC dasa at one of the conferences, but he always avoided this topic. He probably thinks it is a sensitive topic and does not want to disclose it to all. However, I can disclose my own findings, as I have done some private research on SC dasa. Many people mistakenly think that SC dasa is judged from natal chart. That is IMHO wrong. If that is true, things will repeat in one's life in every 12 years, as dasa repeats after every 12 years. By using the word "varshaadau" (aadi = beginning and aadau = in the beginning), Parasara clearly hinted that it is to be judged from the Dasa Pravesha chart (transit chart at the time of the beginning of dasa or antardasa or pratyantardasa). The rules of judging the placement of planets are clearly outlined by Parasara. In fact, I always maintained that muntha used in Tajaka charts is nothing but the SC dasa sign and annual Tajaka chart is nothing but the dasa pravesha chart of SC dasa. Use Sun, Moon or lagna based on the matters of interest. For matters of political power and opportunity in career, I always found Sun useful. I experimented to see if Sun, Moon and lagna work well with dasa, antardasa and pratyantardasa or something like that, but I did not find it useful. For antardasas, some people simply count from dasa sign. IMHO, that is wrong. My reading of Parasara convinced me that the antardasas should begin from the LORD of dasa sign. Finally, some people use this technique with only rasi chart, but I found far better results when I used it in the divisional charts of interest. Let me give an example. George W Bush July 6, 1946Time: 7:30:00Time Zone: 4:00:00 (West of GMT)Place: 72 W 55' 43", 41 N 18' 29" His natal dasamsa is shown in Figure 1. Let us consider SC dasa from Sun to time his victory in 2000 presidential election. In July 2000, he finished 54 years and started the 55th year. Noting that 55 modulo 12 is 7 (after subtracting 48 from 55), we see that the dasa is of 7th house. Taking the 7th house from natal dasamsa Sun, we get Gemini. So take Gemini as the progressed Surya lagna during 2000-01. Now the dasa starts on July 6, 2000 at 3:32:53 am. The dasamsa chart at that time is shown in Figure 2. If you take Gemini as lagna and look at this chart, the 10th house is strong. The 10th lord Jupiter in own sign and 5th lord Venus in exaltation occupy the 10th from Gemini and give a raja yoga. Another benefic Moon joins them. Though there is Rahu too, the 10th house is quite strong and promises auspicious events and raja yoga in career. The 3rd lord Sun and 6th lord Mars are ill-placed in 7th as per Parasara's strict rules and they show relationship problems, litigation and problems from government. However, the strength of the 10th house ensured final success. Now let us look antardasas. The 6th antardasa started on December 6, 2000 at 4:46:12 am (using a timezone of 4:00 hours west still). The dasamsa at this time is shown in Figure 3. Because this is the commencement chart of the 6th antaradasa, go back to natal chart and count the 6th from dasa lord. In Gemini dasa, Mercury is dasa lord. He is in Leo in natal dasamsa (Figure 1). The 6th from it is Capricorn. So antardasa is Cp and use Cp as lagna in Figure 3. Though several malefics are pounding lagna, there are 4 benefics on the 4th-10th axis. Especially, Venus and Mercury in 10th cause a raja yoga as they own 5th, 9th and 10th. This shows a lot of headache early in the antardasa and then success and power. Finally, look at the 2.5 day period. The 4th 2.5 day pratyantardasa in Cp antardasa started on December 13, 2000 at 1:57:21 pm (still using 4:00 west timezone, i.e. timezone of birth). The dasamsa positions of planets at this time are shown in Figure 4. Because this is the 4th pratyantardasa (PD), look at the 4th house from antardasa lord. Antardasa is Cp. Its lord is Saturn. His natal dasamsa position as per Figure 1 is Aries. Counting from there, the 4th PD is Cancer. Take Cn as lagna in Figure 4. Benefics in 10th are favorable according to Parasara. Sun is a benefic when in a friendly sign or in exaltation according to him. So exalted Sun and Jupiter in 10th are very auspicious. This shows a great break in career during the 2.5 day period. Benefic Moon in 9th is well-placed. Benefic Mercury in 8th is well-placed. In contrast, make the commencement chart for the 2nd 2.5 day pratyantardasa of this antardasa (at December 8, 2000 at 3:51:52 pm). In this chart, from PD sign Taurus, Mars and Sun are in 10th (in inimical sign) and this shows bad events in career. Jupiter is in 12th. Benefic Moon in 6th showing a small victory to the enemy. Saturn and Rahu are in 9th, showing a bad event from father or judiciary. During this 2.5 day period, Bush suffered a setback as Gore received a favorable judgment. However, the federal Supreme Court struck down the judgment of Florida supreme court and Gore conceded on Dec 15. SC dasa works nicely. The trick is to use the dasa pravesha chart to judge it, use the divisional charts, take antardasas from dasa lord rather than dasa sign, take the 3 references judiciously and follow the rules of Parasara strictly. As for how ashtakavarga has to be integrated into this, I will have to keep quiet for some more time. Guest guest
Great findings ! On the list you are amongst some of leading advocates of the Sudarsan Chakra Dasa(SCD). Even in your title Vedic Astrology An Integrated Approach, you've reiterated the great predictive capacity of the SCD as Parashar illustrated in his BPHS. The approach of readig dash/antar of SCD, you hinted here appeal to me and would surely add our analytical capability. No doubt, SCD works well in solar return charts in many cases as return charts are identical to Dasa Parvesh Chart of SCD. I also experienced SCD a very fine tool of forecasting, like a natural dasha, which tells the surroundings, environments and happenings around us. Regards M.Imran "Narasimha P.V.R.
