Guest guest
Dear Mr. Vishwanatham and Mr. Sudershan, Thank you for your responses. So, in essence, the qualities suggested by the Atmakaraka are the ones that the native should keep in mind for spiritual progress. The negative qualities suggested by the Atmakaraka are to be avoided and the positive ones should be used as strengths, as in your example, of someone with Sani as Atmakaraka taking on the sorrow of others but never giving sorrow to others. Excellent theory! Mr. Vishwanatham, you said that Rahu and Ketu were always retrograde. Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought they are retrograde for the most part, just as the other planets are direct for the most part. And at some points they reverse their direction, and become direct. At least this is what the first Hindu astro book I read (Ancient Hindu astrology for the modern Western astrologer by James Braha) said, and one software package I downloaded gave "direct", "retrograde" and "Stationary direct" for all planets, including Rahu and Ketu. Is this wrong then? Or are you saying that the "natural state" for Rahu and Ketu is to be retrograde, i.e. they can be otherwise based on the earth's movement? Thank you for working on my chart, as well for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with this group. The other grahas are undoubtedly milder in their propensity to engage the native in sense gratification when compared to Rahu. This is the understanding of why someone with Rahu as AK could be very spiritual. > > Hope this helps. > > Hare Krishna > > Sudharsan > > venkatarama_sastry <venkatarama_sastry> wrote: > Dear friends, > > From Pundit Sanjay Rath's lessons on this newsgroup, I learnt that > having a malefic as atmakaraka shows more spiritual evolution for > the soul involved. Guest guest
Hare Rama Krishna Dear Venkat, Essentially, what i was talking about is 'Mean nodes' and you about 'true nodes'. personally i take the whole thing as 'sybolism'. Humans landed on the Moon & Mars is under the scanner. Planets becoming 'Retrograde' is a phenomenon as observed from earth. To understand Nodes as per vedic astrology, we need to understand the story about 'sagar manthan' and the enemity between the nodes and the luminaries (Sun & Moon). Sun & Moon are always direct and Nodes are always retrograde. Hope this helps. regards viswanadham venkatarama_sastry <venkatarama_sastry > wrote: Dear Mr. Vishwanatham and Mr. Sudershan,Thank you for your responses.
