I have a feeling, that there must be a better way to find the TriKona/Kendra houses from Mithuna Lagna, instead of counting 1,2,3... and reach Thula as 5th from Lagna. My objective is: when I see Lagna as Mithuna, and when I wanted to know what are the TriKona houses, then I should see quickly Thula and Kumbha, instead of counting 1,2,3,4,5 th house etc. from the Lagna. Please help/guide me to get this counting process into my mind once for all in a natural way. Guest guest
Assuming n signifies the sign of the lagna e.g. Cancer Lagna n=4 For Trikona: (n+4)mod12 and (n+8)mod12 is the sign of the trikonas mod is the remainder that one gets upon dividing by 12. If the resultant number is 12 then although remainder is 0 it should be treated as 12 itself. So for Cancer the trikona is 8 and 12For Leo which n=5, the trikona is 9 (Saggitarius) and 1 (Aries). Similarly for kendras the signs are those corresponding to n+3 mod 12, n+6 mod 12, n+9 mod 12. For cancer it becomes 7 (libra), 10 (capricorn), 1 (aries) hope this is easy enough. regards chakrootvrao_agd <tvrao_agd (AT) sancharnet (DOT) in> wrote: dear rao garu, though i am not well versed with this science, but i feel to know the houses by a glance it is very easy in case of north indian style chart as it is drawn considering the ascendant as the first house. gurus can give more and better clues. tvr Rao Nemani [raon1008 ]Sent: Saturday, October 11, 2003 12:58 AMVarahaMihira VarahaMihira; GuruKulam Achyuta; Vedic Astrology Group[vedic astrology] A Very Basic Question ? * Om Krishna Guru * Dear Guru's and Learned Members, Having spent about 8 months so far in learning the basics and fundamentals, even today I am still counting houses 1,2,3,4....9th etc for find the TriKona and Kendra from a Lagna or for that matter from any house. Guest guest
Dear Rao, Have you observed! that in many Jyotish Classics, the Avtar, Tattwa, Guna, and attributes are discussed earlier than illustrating signs and houses. You will definitely know, among five tattwa Akash is spreaded everywhere and thus remaining four are associated with 12 signs as: Fire: Ari, Leo, Sag Earth: Tau, Vir, Cap Air: Gem, Lib, Aqu Water: Can, Sco, Pis Similarly four fundamental qualities are connected with 12 sings as: Cardinal: Ari, Can, Lib, Cap Fixed: Tau, Leo, Sco, Aqu Dual: Gem, Vir, Sag, Pis Now before finding trine and quadrant houses, you must know the their natural order, element and quality of each sign. If naturally numeric phase of your memory is sharp then counting criteria is better [by memorising signs number in a circular form as discussed by one group member]. But if you have figurative part of yuor mind sharp then memorizing names and forms are suitable. Now I try to illustrate. (1) Every trine house has same element as of Lagna. Suppose Gemini be the lagna. It is airy sign, so its trines must happen airy signs, i.e. Libra and Aquarius. Similarly if Cancer be lagna then its trine would be watery signs, i.e. Scorpio and Pisces. (2) Every quadrant house has same quality as of Lagna. Let Sagittarius be the lagna which is a dual sign, then it quadrant will be Dual sings, i.e. Pisces, Gemini, and Virgo. Similarly if Aquarius be the lagna then its all quadrant placed will be fixed in nature, i.e. Taurus, Leo and Scorpio. Beyond counting difficulty, If you got this point, then it is not difficult to understand why Sages said, Lagna lord is auspicious in Trine and Quadrant houses, which simply amplify the tattwa(element) and quality of lagna. Thus when both animate(lagnesh) and inanimate (lagna) "self" become identical either in element of quality, it brigs forth auspicousness. Guest guest
tannaù çakti pracodayät| Dear Rao, I have another method also. Now you know the different Tattwas like Vaayu Tattwa,Bhutattwa,Jala Tattwa and Agni Tattwa Rasis. Agni Tattwa Rasis : Mesha,Simha, Dhanus. Vaayu Tattwa Rasis : Mithuna,Tula,Kumbha. Bhu Tattwa Rasis : Vrishabha,Kanya and Makara. Jala Tattwa Rasis : Karka,Vrischika,Meena. Now you know the Chara,Sthira and Dwiswabha Rasis. Chara Rasis : Mesha,Karka,Tula,Makara. Sthira Rasis : Vrishabha,Simha,Vrischika,Kumbha. Dwiswabhava Rasis : Mithuna,Kanya,Dhanus,Meena. Now for Trikona sthanas you consider Tattwa Rasis from the Lagna. For Kendra Rasis, you consider the characters of Rasis from Lagna. For example ,Lagna is Mithuna - Dwiswabhava Rasi,so kendra houses will be Kanya,Dhanu and Meena. Again Lagna is Vaayu Tattwa Rasi so Tula and Kumbha will be Trikona Rasis. I hope this helps you.
