Vivaha Saham (formula, example and interpretaion)

Dear Sushmita,

Here's

The formula:

Vivah Saham = (Venus Long)-(Saturn Long)+(Ascendant Long)

here if third parameter i.e. Ascendant's longitude does not fall

between Venus and Saturn's longitude then add 30 degrees, otherwise

dont. For nigth births take, Vivah Saham = Sat-Ven+Asc. While for

parshan charts, sometimes, Vivah Saham(marriage part) is taken

differently.

Vivha Saham for Parshan = (7th house)-(7th lord)+(Ascendant)

Example:

Let's suppose a "day time natal chart". Venus is at 17Li48

(=197*48'), Saturn is at 18Le55(=138*55') and Ascendant is at 8Aq55

(=308*55').

Vivah Saham = 197*48' - 138*55' + 308*55' = 367*48'

Since here third parameter Ascendant is not fallen between Venus and

Saturn therefore ADD 30* to above, we get

Vivha Saham = 367*48' + 30* = 397*48'

As this value crossed 360* so minus it from above, as 397*48'-360* =

37*48' That is 7 degrees and 48 minutes of Taurus, or say

Vivha Saham = 7 Ta 48.

Interpretation:

The Saham(also called Arabian parts) are like significant cosmic

points in chart, obtained with the help of adding and subtraction of

grahas' longitude. Treat them like special ascendants. They are

specifically computed for annual solar return chart(Tajik Varsh

parvesh). If they fall into trik bhav(6th, 8th and 12th), they

assumed to be weak. Any aspect of benefic planet on it strenghten

their status, whereas malefic's aspect afflict them. Transits of

benefic planets over them lead to gain with respect to related

matters.

For the case computed earlier, (Vivah Saham = 7 Ta 48) we can infer.

a) Vivah saham falls in Taurus lorded by Venus. Thus dasa and bhukt

of Venus (and related nakshatra lord Sun) lead to marriage, provided

the native's age and circumstances permit.

b) Check when the Vivah Saham lord (here Venus) will conjoin either

with Lagna(here Aq) and Lagnesh(here Sa). The very time gives

happiness regarding marriage.

c) Note the transit of Jupiter over Saham(here Taurus) or its trine

signs, the time of that transit will favour marriage possibilities.

d) Transit of natural malefics Saturn and Rahu over Saham result in

delay, losses and troubles.

e) Find, when in the annual solar return chart, "Mantha" falls into

vivha saham sign "Taurus". (or say simply when SuDarshan Dasa of

House having Taurus will commence). That year will also prove

favourable regarding marriage.

f) Note the yogas in chart, involved either Saham's lord and its

sign of occupation. Good yogas yield favour and arishtas obstruct.

Keeping in mind the above rules one can predict for all other Sahams.

Regards

M.IMRAN
