Guest guest
OM NAMO SHIVAY Dear Hari, RamaRao Ji and members Well thanks for sharing your thoughts. Now here is the list of topics on punya chakra(which was partially covered at west coast conference and I am not even sure whether I am authorized to give this on the lists, since west coast CDs are already there for detailed explanations. Pardon me if I am overstepping my limits here. I am just giving the topic list and detailed lectures are in those CDs only. ALso its such a big and complex topic, so it was hard to note down everything at the conference and all I have is this list and some general interpretations by JYOTISH GURU Shri Sanjay Rath and even those interpretations are further limited by my own understanding. I think that those Cds are the best source for Punya Chakra )..anyway I think he/no will mind giving this topic list away and then you can make your own interpretations. Just compute the punya chakra(rashi chakra at the time and place of death) and look for the following/planets in following positions: (I) Initial Refuge of the departed soul *** 6th HouseDrekkana(16th Drekkana): Sadripu(punishment due to weaknesses) *** 7th house(rebirth occurs soon) *** 8th house drekkana(khara or 22nd drekkana-punishment due to sins) *** Jupiter's power to veto the negative indications and bless (II) Intermediate movement of the atma after death *** Planets in Lagna *** Three fold division-Bhu, Bhuva and Swarga Loka (III)Final Abode ***Twelevth house and Importance of Jupiter ***Sastamsa: Dharma and moksha ***Brahma Loka and moksha ***Param padam of Visnu That's all I have and that's all I know. ALso I think he gave that SaptaLoka articles before the conference to understand it better (still trying to understand them)...I will try to locate by grandfather's punya chakra later on and then make my own interpretations. Guest guest
Dear Ramadas Raoji, Jayashree and other learned members - Although the planet may be in rasi sandhi, if that planet happens to be in the Pushkara navamsa (or pushkara bhaga), then it usually does not give bad results. Does what I am saying sound right? Guest guest
Dear Viswanadham, My personal opinion is that not all rasi sandhis are Gandanta. For a beter definition read Jataka Parijata. Again if we base analysis of a chart on only one parameter, be it Rasi Sandhi, Gandanta, Debilitated planet and so on, the possibility of coming to a wrong conclusions increases. A Chart must be viewed as a whole and analysed. Chandrashekhar. H S Viswanadham wrote: Hare Rama Krishna Dear RamadasJi, Sudarshan & others, Thanks for your comments, as ever backed by real life experiences. >From the West Coast conference- 2002 CD it is clear that Rasi Sandhi is the one Navamsa on either side of Rasi cusp. Is your understanding also the same or you prefer to define it differently. If it is 'Navamsa', then a vargottama Jupiter in both its signs is bad for those two Houses. In my own experience,.... i hesitate to say this because last time i wrote on the list that my Father is happily married for over 50 years, within a fortnight my Mother expired. I have Jupiter, Saturn,(In Sagittarius), Mercury in Aq & Ven in Pis are all in Rasi Sandhi (Scorpio- Lagna) if we consider 3.2'. If we take last 1 degree, as some advocate, then Saturn & Mercury are in Gandanta. In any case, i have not experienced any premature deaths in my family. My Mother died at the age of 62 (though we would love to have her for some more time). Now i write this with a prayer to God to give them all a very long life. In case of Curses, i understand that Vargottama is not good, in the sense that the curse is backed by the force of Dharma and therefore is infallible - one has to experince it. Is it not that generally Vargottama indicates a dharmic connection from past life. How to understand Vargottama, if it has to be always negative. One should not have Vargottama planets if He\She had done something nice in the past life! I hope you understand my confusion, i am stuck here and love to be enlightened. Guest guest
Dear Ramdasji, No doubt what you say has a lot of logic, but Vargottam Guru's and Sun's Aspect on 9th should have rendered Saturn's aspect on 3rd les effective, than the aspect on 6th. Of course this is my opinion and it could be disputed. Regards, Chandrashekhar. Guest guest
>From what i know, every sign (30deg) has two auspicious navamsas (pushkara navamsas) and one aupicious degree called puskhara bhaga (also there is a set of inaupicious degrees called mrityu bhaga - depends on the sign and planet). Anyway, these puskhara navamsas are owned only by the benefics (Jup, Ven, Mer, Moo) and give auspicious results (even more so for planets situated in pushkara bhagaas). Here is a link that gives you the different puskhara navamsas/bhagas. http://www.angelfire.com/wizard/vedic/gamjuly14.html Hope this helps. - JaiJayashree <jayashree_ravi (AT) msn (DOT) com> wrote: Dear Balagopal ji,Please explain what is pushkara Navamsa..Thanks,Jayashree--- In vedic astrology, "jai balagopal" wrote:> Dear Ramadas Raoji, Jayashree and other learned members -> > Although the planet may be in rasi sandhi, if that planet happens to be in> the Pushkara navamsa (or pushkara bhaga), then it usually does not give bad> results. Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Chandrashekhar, Its not only your personal oppinion, the Gandanta's only occur at the borders of Water and Fire Signs - that is the definition of Gandanta. Sandhi can occur in all signs. Best wishes, Visti - Chandrashekhar Sharma vedic astrology Tuesday, November 04, 2003 2:26 PM Re: [vedic astrology] Planets in Rasi Sandhi Dear Viswanadham,My personal opinion is that not all rasi sandhis are Gandanta. For a beter definition read Jataka Parijata. Again if we base analysis of a chart on only one parameter, be it Rasi Sandhi, Gandanta, Debilitated planet and so on, the possibility of coming to a wrong conclusions increases. A Chart must be viewed as a whole and analysed.Chandrashekhar.H S Viswanadham wrote: Hare Rama Krishna Dear RamadasJi, Sudarshan & others, Thanks for your comments, as ever backed by real life experiences. >From the West Coast conference- 2002 CD it is clear that Rasi Sandhi is the one Navamsa on either side of Rasi cusp. Is your understanding also the same or you prefer to define it differently. If it is 'Navamsa', then a vargottama Jupiter in both its signs is bad for those two Houses. In my own experience,.... i hesitate to say this because last time i wrote on the list that my Father is happily married for over 50 years, within a fortnight my Mother expired. I have Jupiter, Saturn,(In Sagittarius), Mercury in Aq & Ven in Pis are all in Rasi Sandhi (Scorpio- Lagna) if we consider 3.2'. If we take last 1 degree, as some advocate, then Saturn & Mercury are in Gandanta. In any case, i have not experienced any premature deaths in my family. My Mother died at the age of 62 (though we would love to have her for some more time). Now i write this with a prayer to God to give them all a very long life. In case of Curses, i understand that Vargottama is not good, in the sense that the curse is backed by the force of Dharma and therefore is infallible - one has to experince it. Is it not that generally Vargottama indicates a dharmic connection from past life. How to understand Vargottama, if it has to be always negative. One should not have Vargottama planets if He\She had done something nice in the past life! I hope you understand my confusion, i am stuck here and love to be enlightened. In literal parlance its mean, boundary; limit; morning or evening twilight or meeting point of two group. In astrology, this term stands for * terminating 2 minutes of a zodiacal sign; * terminating 24 seconds of a navamsha;* terminating 24 minutes of a lunar day(tithi);

The last 2-1/2 years (Saturn/Mercury in Vimshottari) where a simple disaster in terms of the 11th and 2nd houses - financial losses and lack of proper/stable income. Guest guest
Dear Ramadas Rao, I will support every astrological issue that proves itself to hold true in reality, and withing a given frame. As many other contoversities/doubts, also in the case of sandhi we need to gather sufficient statistic material that will support it ( a future project maybe ?). So far I tend to agree with the writings. Guest guest
Dear Jay, This Mercury is your chart is in gandanta. As per Light on Life, "Gandanta is particularly inopportune because it is a double sandhi, a juncture of two rashis as well as two nakshatras." They go on to say that these points are very weak and need to be strengthened by appropriate remedies. But this also shows that they can be strengthened and the importance of strengthening any planet in gandanta so you can take measures for this Mercury. Thanks for sharing your actual experience. Best wishes and regards, Patrice ____________ Dear All, There is nothing like personal experience: I have Mercury lord of 11th & 2nd (also as AK and vargottama) in 29Pis42 / 8th (Lahiri) - a clear rasi sandhi between water and fire (Pis/Ari). Guest guest
Dear Balagopal ji, I checked the web-site you had given. Since Pushkara Navamsa is a completely new concept to me, I did read in-depth in trying to understand it. But the author (or web-site) have only explained it at a higher level - that is, it may be understood by someone who knows what Pushkara Navamsa is, and only wants some reference for actual navamsa degrees to verify the same... For example, in the table taken from the web-site (given below), what do the titles ARIES through PISCES indicate? (Navamsa lagna or Rasi lagna) >From what I understand so far -- each sign has 9 sub-divisions of 3*20 degree each, so total sub-divisions for the whole navamsa is 108. Of these 108, 24 constitute pushkara navamsa or auspicious degrees for planets to be in. The Pushkara Navamsa are given only by Jupiter, Venus, Moon and Mercury, so only 7 out of the 12 signs in Navamsa have PN in them.. But when the author states, each sign has 2 PN's, does he mean for example, for a PISCES lagna in Navamsa, the only 2 possible PN's are 0 - 3*20 of Cancer and 6*20 - 10*00 of Virgo? and so on for the rest of the signs? (Because the same Cancer sign's PN degree varies to something like 6*20 .. for a different sign, ie not Pisces). So do I have to check Navamsa Lagna or Rasi's lagna in the table to find out it's 2 Pushkara Navamsas (PN)? The table as given at the web-site: -- ARIES The 7th Libra or Thula Navamsa 20*00'-23*20' and the 9th Sagittarius/Dhanu Navamsa 26*40'-30*00' PB is the 21st degree TAURUS The 3rd Pisces/Meena Navamsa 6*40'-10*00', and the 5th Taurus 13*20'-16*40' PB: The 14th degree. Guest guest
Dear Patrice, Thanks for "reminding" me of Gandanta - how else could I forget ? Strengthinig will not be necessary as this period is about to become "past" very shortly and the harm is already done... For those who don't know what Gandanta is: The combinations of 'Moola Nakshatra' with 'Jyestha' and of 'Revati Nakshatra' with 'Ashwini Nakshatra' till the period of 7 Ghatikas cause 'Ganda Moola'. These combinations are considered to be the most inauspicious moment, which cause undesired calamities. The combination of Moola and Jyestha Nakshatras is called 'ABHUKTA'. A child, an animal or a servant born during this particular 'Abhukta' brings misfortune to his family or master. For the welfare of the child, who has taken birth in the above mentioned combinations of Nakshatras, it is necessary to pacify the Nakshatras in 27 days, when the same Nakshatras reposition themselves. If a child, born in this Abhukta ,survives, he brings name, fame and wealth to his family. Kind regards /Jay Weiss - Patrice Curry vedic astrology Thursday, November 06, 2003 3:08 PM Re: [vedic astrology] Planets in Rasi Sandhi Dear Jay, This Mercury is your chart is in gandanta. The last 2-1/2 years (Saturn/Mercury in Vimshottari) where a simple disaster in terms of the 11th and 2nd houses - financial losses and lack of proper/stable income. Just another (bitter) proof of this theory. Kind regards /Jay Weiss Archives: vedic astrologyGroup info: vedic astrology/info.htmlTo UNSUBSCRIBE: Blank mail to vedic astrology-....... Guest guest
Dear Jay, Thank you for all this information below regarding Abhukta. I had not heard of it before and it's interesting. As far as what you've said: "Strengthening will not be necessary as this period is about to become "past" very shortly and the harm is already done..." I'm sure you would know better than I for your own chart and life, however I don't think that the fact this bhukti period of Mercury has passed with regards to what you wrote in an earlier email, specifying Saturn/Mercury dasa, would mean that Mercury doesn't need strengthening in your chart. From what I've read in Light on Life, "Grahas located at these points are very weak, and indicate major problems in the native's life unless the grahas involved are strengthened by appropriate remedies." Mainly I'm clarifying this as I think it's important for others as well to understand this. All best wishes, Patrice ___________ Dear Patrice, Thanks for "reminding" me of Gandanta - how else could I forget ? Guest guest
Dear Ramadas Raoji - How are you doing? Pushkara navamsa/bhagas are not found in any of these gandantha positions. Also from what i have seen, gandantha positions are an unfortunate position for a planet to be in. With my very limited knowledge, i have see charts where a planet was exalted in devalokamsa (like sun in aries- 0deg, etc) and still doesn't help the native all that much, because it is in gandantha. Guest guest
Dear Jay, 27days decide whether the child born in ABHUKTA-tanks for the term, /source of misery for family/ will survive, when the child becomes b;essing to the same family. In 27 days some remedial-like-measures are taken, and I wonder 1/which ones to appease 27 N/pacify them/ 2/why than you say nothing can/should be done? 3/When child is born in ABHUCTA, meaning with Sun, or Moon there? If remedial measures can reverse result from misfortune to wealth bringing, in addittion to saving a child /animal and servant are also born as a chid, right?/it's performance is well justified. Why would that child die, anyway? Is /and why/ is it inevitable If it dies, how can it bring misfortune to family?Come on whith more info I know you have in your sleeves!!! I am all ear!Warm wishes expecting your reply, Anna Thanks for "reminding" me of Gandanta - how else could I forget ? Guest guest
|Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Patrice, As per the definition, Rasi Sandhi is the first or last 1 degree of a sign. However there is special consideration for Sankranti Dosha (Sun in 1st degree of a sign) which has a separate effect. Hence its both the beginning and ending. Best wishes, Visti. I'm also wondering if it can occur at the beginning of a sign as well, or is it just endings? Can you please share information regarding this as to what defines a sandhi. Thank you again Imran for sending the exact degrees involved. Greatly appreciated and best regards, Patrice __________________ Hare Rama Krishna| Dear Chandrashekhar, Its not only your personal oppinion, the Gandanta's only occur at the borders of Water and Fire Signs - that is the definition of Gandanta. Sandhi can occur in all signs. Best wishes, Visti Very good point you have raised. "Sandhi" is generally refered as junctional point. In literal parlance its mean, boundary; limit; morning or evening twilight or meeting point of two group. In astrology, this term stands for * terminating 2 minutes of a zodiacal sign; * terminating 24 seconds of a navamsha; * terminating 24 minutes of a lunar day(tithi); To UNSUBSCRIBE: Blank mail to vedic astrology- || Om Tat Sat || Sarvam Sri Krishnaarpanamastu || Your use of is subject to the Terms of Service.
