Suppose you take Thula lagnam whose second lord is in the 5th house.Then the second lord is 4 signs away from the 2nd house. If you count 4 signs from Aquarius you will finally arrive at Taurus and that will be the Upapadam. However there is controvesy regarding "Upapadam of even and odd signs". Sri.Sanjayjis books give very clear idea about Upapadam. Coming to the sources of my knowledge ,I read all and sundry books also.I depend on sage Parasaras Brihat Parasara Horashastram, the celebrated Brihat jatakam ,Kalidasas uttarakalamritam ,etc etc.Bhrigu nandi Nadi,saptha Rishi Nadi ,Satya Jatakam etc.Late Sri.Dr. B.V.Ramans books, K.P. System,Sanjayjis works,and a hoard of several other books . I am trying to gather knowledge of Astrology from every possible source.And above all,I wish to add that without the help of a capable guru, I think that it is well neigh impossible to have any access to real "bandar" of knowledge of Astrology. You might have had some obstructions in your studies due to the aspect of debilitated Mars on the second house from Mercury.That might have happened some time during 1993/97/98.
