Let me add one more thing to Karu;s excellent explanation.

 

Rao, it's favourable for YOUR AL to have malefics /sign, planets/ in 3rd or 6th

for success in matterial world, which as many say 'is a battle'- If Your enemy,

represented in your chart by A6, has malefics in 3rd and 6th- he's your

dangerous oponent. If however you have benefics in 3rd and 6th, you would do

better not to fight A6 with malefics in 3rd and 6th, you'll lose. You can

assess that in advance, but even than look at the transits.

Now, I have a related question, hope somebody will answer: What happens if both

AL and A6 are in the same sign- they are of equal strenght, how can one

'defeat' such an 'enemy', 'competitor', 'applicant for the same position',

'colleague aspiring to the same advanced position', etc /I write this for Rao,

since term 'enemy' as I've read, covers anybody who can be in a way aspirant,

competitor /and getter-looser/ of the object of our desire

Dear Raoji,

Since the question is not answered, let me explain few things.

 

There is nothing to confuse. Just follow basic as below.

1.AL is self, and 3rd and 6th are the houses of growth, upachaya. 3rd indicate

skills, weapons, tools or any thing use for growth and 6th indicate the level

of ability / or strength to victory over others. (What happens both these

houses are equal in strength ? For example any body with ability and

appropriate tools for it ?)

2. Fighting for material improvements or give up for spiritual improvements can

be seen from these houses. If benefic influenced, one may give up, if malefic

influenced one may fight.

3.Any graha, transit over AL or trine to AL (or any pada or tine to said pada)

has the ability to influence matters/ areas of said Aruda. For example Rahu

transit over AL or trine to AL give victories/ promotions in material life,

while Ketu transit over AL or trine to AL make failures and perhaps renounce

the material world. So, Sun too influence same way.

4. Take the any aruda pada as the lagna of other party. For example A6 is the

lagna of the opponent, A7 is the lagna of the partner, UL is the lagna of the

spouse etc., and apply same rules.

That's the worst enemy, always.

You know what H. Kisinger said once /I used to quote that re this issue, which

is more or less problem of all of us, I can recognize it myself, easily/: 'My

biggest problem is within me- namely, I am a big paranoic by nature- My
