Aspects of retrograde planets on Lagna

The foolowing is what I could find on lagnadhi yoga.

What is Lagnadhi Yoga? What are its benefits? When are they likely?

There are three positions from Lagna for benefic planets to occupy to

produce Lagnadhi Yoga. The positions are 6,7 and 8, counting from

Rasi. A natural benefic in the 6th from Lagna confers long life; in

the 7th from Lagna, popularity and fame; and in the 8th from Lagna, a

generous disposition. From Rasi, a natural benefic in the 6th can

raise the native to be a minister; in the 7th to be an acclaimed

leader; and in the 8th, to be the owner of wealth, large estate and

influence.

For these benefits to actualise, of course, the Lagna and its Lord

must be strong and free from deleterious aspects. The benefits of

Lagnadhi Yoga will be realised when the sequence of Maha Dasas and

Bhukthis allows the causative benefic planets to rule in the main, or

have favourable sub-rule periods.

shloka 37-

37. LAGNADHI YOGA:

Should benefics be in the 7th and the 8th counted from the ascendant

and be devoid of conjunction/aspect of malefics, Lagnadhi yoga is

produced making one a great person, learned in Shastras, and happy.

Dear Nimmi, Ishwar & others,

Dr. Charak makes a good comment in his book "Yogas in astrology" (page 143)

in regard to Lagnadhi yoga:

"This yoga is compatible to the (Chandra -) Adhi yoga which is formed by

presence of benefics in the 6th, 7th & 8th from the Moon".

The yoga itself confers learning, wealth, high status etc. BUT Dr. Charak

emphasises the fact that it is not very common to have an unblemished

Lagnadhi yoga, free of any malefic conjunctions or aspects.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your response...but all I am asking is the effect of

the 3 retrograde planets on the lagna by aspect. What will they

actually signify in my life. By the way I have a planet in the 8th

too, Rahu ! So bhavas 5,6,7,8 have planets in them, except Jupiter

all of them are malefics..Jupiter too becomes a functional malefic

for an Aquarian ascendant. All I would like to know is the meaning

of the 3 retrograde planets aspecting the Lagna.

Dear Aum,

I do not have the shloka to hand, but if I remember right it causes a powerful

Rajayoga.For Auqarius lords of 7th and 10th give good results if they are not

posited there. Malefic owning Kendras give shubha phala.
