Guest guest
Dear Friends RAM KRISHN HARE An excel file Grah.xls has been uploaded in files section of vedic astrology.you can freely copy/modify/distribute it for non commercial use. visit http://www.astro.ch/swisseph for licence details of swiss ephemeris. This program needs swedll32.dll file in same directory or in path(like windows or system directory)besides MSExcel 5+ If YOU HAVE JHL41 THEN JUST COPY IT TO SAME DIRECTORY. DO NOT DOWNLOAD swedll32.dll AGAIN.YOU ALREADY HAVE IT WITH YOU. IT WILL NOT TAKE DATES BEFORE 1-1-1900(unless you modify it). It takes birth data and shows all 9 Grahas and lagn. All calculations are correct upto seconds. Moon may be off by less then 5 seconds(as in JHL). You can view your chart in North-Indian style. It gives grah and bhav tithis for all planets. You can now find santan and other tithis directly. Santan and other grahas can also be viewed without calculations. It also has an independent module (sheet) for ephemeris and Panchag calculations. It is probably not included in JHora. You can set time interval from a second to years as you please. But do not forget to convert it in days. Fractions(=365.25636) and expressions (=1/24 for hourly interval) are allowed. Transits prediction by Ashtakvarg requires Knowledge of Kakshya. You can directly view kakshya of each planet in ephemeris. You can add your own calculations as there is no hidden code. This is a freeware and open source/free code program. DOWNLOAD IT FROM: vedic astrologyGrah.xls I could not upload swedll32.dll. Is it not allowed to upload .dll? I would be interested to know from you if there is some way to protect formulas in excel so that values in cells can be changed but formula can be preserved. This will avoid corruption by mistake. I hope it will be useful for you.

Guest guest
Mr. Kedia, I saved the file with anothername and reentered the date portion in sheet3. It is working now. The worksheet is very good and accurate. Thanks for the same and sharing it with us. I do not think you can protect a particular cell in an exel sheet. But if you copy one sheet to M.S. Frontpage, then going to sheet property-you can protect cell wise. I do not know how to do it for the whole worksheet. Somebody knowledgeable can advice. I saw you have used some call functions like "grah(18,0) etc. to exctract data from certain data sheet. Can you please send me a personal mail explaining the procedure how to define the variables and the data sheets and also how you have used the dll file. I do not see any macro also. Are the hidden? This is just for academic interest. My id is dga (AT) bom5 (DOT) vsnl.net.in Regards, Dasgupta

Guest guest
Hi, My previous reply was in a bit of a hurry as I am packing up to vacate this flat in Portugal and moving back to the UK. To protect the cells first you must protect the sheet. Choose the Tools menu, and select Protect Worksheet. You enter a password here. Then select the cells you want to protect. You then select the Format menu and Cells, choose Protection and click on Locked. Try it out and it should be straightforward. Guest guest
Dear Dasji, I am sorry, I gave the instructions in the wrong order. First protect the cells and then the sheet. Otherwise once you protect the sheet, you will not be able to change the cells. Guest guest
Dear Nimmiji, Thank you. I have done it. So simple, but did not know it earlier. For academic interest-I want to ask you one trhing. You have seen the file Grah.xls, do you know how to connect a exel worksheet with the dll file? Some array variables like grah(18,0), lagna(C19,C20,C18) have been used. Can you tell me how to define and use the variables in exel? Regards, J.K.
