I'm having a problem interpreting a chart of a friend of mine and any help from the esteemed list members in this matter would be GREATLY appreciated. My friend lost his job of some seven years a few months ago and has not found anything yet. However, his 11th house (ruler is Saturn) has Venus in it. Also, Vimsottari Dasa shows that Venus' Dasa has been ongoing since 1999. If my interpretation is right, Venus in the 11th should show favorable income especially since this is Venus Dasa. So, why the loss of a job? Also, is there a change in the job situation in the near future. Am I reading this chart correctly regarding the 11th house? Are there other factors I should take into account? I apologize for sending such an elementary question to this list but I'm stuck. I'm sending along the JHD file and will await any response. We have to use the right tool and use the correct line of reasoning. For example, If your friend lost his job couple of months ago, then is it logical to find an explnation using the Dasa level as Venus Dasa runs for 20yrs!! I think we must find an explanation in the deeper levels like Pratyantara Dasa as it runs for a few months. Vimsottari Dasa --------------- Although Venus is in his 11H in D-1, notice it is retrograde, and it is a dire functional malefic for Pi Lagna, being the lords of 3rd & 8th!!! Moreover, it is a functional malefic for Dasamsa Lagna Leo, and is conjoined with another functional malefic Moon!!! Venus owns A8, but also owns A6 & AL, so may help him get his job back. My guess is that he may have lost his job in Pratyantara Dasa of Mercury. Why?? As Mercury is in a baadhaka house of Aries and it is in 12H from AL!!! D10 Narayana Dasa ----------------- Cp-Cn was running till 06/01 and Cp-Le till 10/01. Once again we shall use the AD to explain the event. Cn has debilitated Mars which is 10H from Moon(Judge AD from Mo). Its lord Moon is conjunct functional malefic Moon and Jupiter(Judged from Libra). I think Cn explains it better than Le, whose Lord is in a trine from Moon. Moreover Moon is in 6H from AL. Also Patyayini Dasa of Mars was running between 4/27 - 5/28 in his 2001-2002 yearly chart. Redefined Muntha is in Virgo and Mars is a dire functional malefic owning houses 3rd & 8th and placed in 12H, being in 8H from AL!!!! Did he loose his job in the month of May???? He should see positive developments next year after Feb 13. I hope Guru's and learned members in this list will take some time out to correct me. This is what i could get from the chart. It;s not much but here goes.... Narayana dasa of Libra has been on-going since 2000- 2. Libra is the 8th sign from lagna. 8th sign indicating conspiracies and abrubt events leaning towards distress. Lord of libra , venus herself is posted in capricorn and capricorn happens to be the pada of 8th house!. Venus being posted in the 11th is not an indication for good times. Venus benefic or malefic for a particular lagna is important according to my little knowledge. For Pisces lagna, venus is a first rate malefic. You have mentioned that the native lost his job a few months ago. Was that time period when the Narayana dasa of Li-Le? This period ran from 2001-May to 2001-aug. Sun is the 6th lord for this lagna and sun is placed in the 6th from Ghati lagna. I am not sure of my analysis is right.... but please confirm as i can learn further. Yes, it is in the 11th, but is retrograde. Retrograde planets do not behave as expected. They almost become eccentric. In addition, the sun is in the 12th with mars and saturn as karaka for career, and 10th ruler is retrograde in the 3rd with malefics. This gives a general weakness in the career area. His chart reminds me of mine as I have sun in the 12th too. However, he will do well overseas as he has the 9th lord mars with the sun in the 12th with 12th lord in own sign and joined with 4th and 7th lord. I would say that he will work overseas if he is not already there, and this will happen after a period of difficulty as sun as the 6th lord in the 12th gives a vipareetha raja yoga. As the sun is also darakaraka and 7th ruler mercury is also there, he may get married overseas or to a foreigner. Give him my best wishes. All of your responses have prompted some questions in my mind and I hope you won't mind if I ask them. I apologize again for the basic nature of my questions. I have been slowly going over the archives of this group to gain an understanding of the various facets of vedic astrology but the sheer amount of material makes it quite challenging! First, in response to your queries, my friend lost his job at the beginning of April. This will make it his ninth month without a job. He was a mid to senior level executive in a high tech company and was laid off due to the current economic climate. Also, Nimmi is quite correct in her analysis in that he is overseas (in the USA) and is married to a foreigner (American). He has been overseas for a number of years and will probably remain abroad. If you will bear with me for a moment longer, these are my questions: 1. Since Venus (11 House in D-1) is a dire malefic for Pi Lagna, what are the results of this? 2. (This is from Narayan's post) Since he should see positive developments after Feb 13, 2002, will this be at the same, higher or lower level than what he had previously? How can you tell? 3. Exactly how weak is the career aspect in the chart? Does it pose problems in the future for a career? As always, any help is greatly appreciated.
