As we souls are point of light located at the middle of eyebrow, the Supreme

Soul is also a point of light, called as Shiv. To worship point of light, Linga

is used. The three lines on linga mentions the 3 actions of God shiva - The

Establishemnt of Golden Age , by Brahma, where there will be Deities and One

religion called Adi Sanatan Devi Devta Dharam, The sustenance of the New Age by

Vishnu (Sri Lakshmi and Sri Narayan) and destruction by Shankar.

The Bilva/Datura leaves - 3 is offered to show our surrendering of Body, Mind

and wealth to God Shiv and 5 is offered to show our offering including the near

and Dear ones. Also the surrendering of 5 vices of lust, Anger, greed, ego and

attachment.

The offereing of Milk is the significance of the Nectar of knowledge given by

God Shiv at this point of time and the drops is the significance of adopting the

Godly sanskars of Knowledge, Purity, Peace, Love, Happiness, Bliss and Powers by

the remembrance of God Shiv .

The Fasting is the fasting of Waste and Negative thoughts - keeping mind free

of Waste and negative thoughts.

The OX/Cow in front of Linga is the significance that God shiv comes to this

Kaliyug taking the help of a already living human body, so that Shiv can make

use of the Instrument's mouth to give Knowledge to the Worldly souls.

Om Namah Shivaya

I request the learned members to give some details about the

significance of Shiva Linga. My understanding is that Linga is a

prateek or symbol of the Lord. The union of Shiva and Shakti results

in this material world and the Linga represents supreme consciousness.

Without consciousness, no human can survive. This consciousness is

like the seed of the universe without which it cannot come into

existence.

Please let me know if this is correct.
