Guest guest Report post Posted December 1, 2005 Aadarneeya Krishnan ji, Kangani is a Hindi name , prevelant in the north India. It is also called Ram daana. Laddoos made of puffed Ram daana are eaten during the Navratra Vrat. One can eat Kangani or Ramdaana kheer during the vrat { fasting }. There are just a few cereals which are allowed during the fasts like kangani , kootu and singhari. The reason probably is that kangani and kootu are sown whithout having to plough the field ; no violence on the land and the bullocks . They are just sprinkled over the field and then grow as wild. Singhari is the atta of sighara , a seed of a water plant. Feeding of these grains to the birds is suggested if the Mercury is acting malefic and also if the Venus is in the 6th house then also it is advised that birds be fed these grains on the roof of the house. These grains are also suggested to be fed to the white ants if the Sun is believed to be acting malefic. I have my venus as lord of 6th and 11th in 8th Mercury as lord 10th in 7th own house. Lagna lord jupiter in 11th in libra Moon in 2nd in capricorn as lord of 8th 9th lord Sun in 8th cancer with venus,saturn lord of 12th and 5th in 6th with rahu ketu in 12th in the sign of scorpio Moon in uttarashadha. Therfore you should neither feel guilty nor unhappy on that count. If you get a house constructed in your name the Lal Kitab says " mrityu tulya kashta hoga". Therefore if ever you think of getting a house built , get it in the name of your wife and with a token money from her. Whenever you do the grah pravesh , make a dog enter the house first, and take the dog round into all the rooms. It may be your dog or any body else's dog , it doesn't matter. When would you get to build one? That you can see for yourself through the Vimshottari dasha. You are far more knowledgeable than me in the Vedic system.
