Guest guest
Whether this is heresay or truth, I have no idea but learnt as follows: In ancient times, the best jade came out of China and Burma, highly priced by imperial dynasties for their virtues. Artefacts, objects de art, tombstones, auspicious items and things used by emperors and nobles were made from jade by specialized artisans specially commissioned for these works. In today's times, the finest and most valuable jade comes mostly from Burma (Myanmar). The most valuable genuine Jade is innate with differing shades or hues of green (ranging from light green, yellowish green to dark green). This is "True Jade". (Not jadeite.) True Jade when worn as bangles such as in China, Hong Kong and other parts of Asia by Chinese or Asian cultures, changes colors when the wearer's fortunes or health matters shift. True jade has the propensity to act as a radar and a mirror of the wearer's immediate circumstances and health condition. Jadeite, nephrite and other lesser grades of "Jade-variations" are lighter in color and do not contain the same hues or shades as "True Jade". But they can also serve similar purposes as "True Jade", though of course, to a lesser degree and depending on the wearer's karmic propensity with jadeite, nephrite or other stones for that matter. For indepth info about True Jade, try the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Or a museum near you that may have for example, a True Jade object dating back to say, the Tang or Qing Dynasties of China. The museum of course will have relevant info about the piece, its value and gem-grading info. I know of no other ancient culture other than China's, whose use of Jade dates back many thousand years. Anyone with more info, please let us know. Or if I am wrong, you are welcome to correct me. , "SelinesMusic- Adelphia" <selinesmusic> wrote: > > Interesting......I was told by a certified jeweler many years ago that Jadeite is the more valuable jade. Nephrite jade is very inexpensive and at the same level of pricing as agate......is what I was told. I have a beautiful apple green jadeite stone set in 14K gold.....appraised in the hundreds for insurance purposes, but I don't recall the exact figure. I, too, would appreciate the clarification. > Best regards, > Seline To send an email to: " on the web. Terms of Service.
