PRANAPADA lagna details( calculation& results)

I am giving the details about Pranapada lagna as much as possible,

it will be nice if anybody can add to/discuss about this

 

calculation of Pranapada Lagna as follows:

 

The time from sunrise to birth should be converted into Vighatis and

divided by 15. The remainder should be converted into signs and

degrees, taking Vighatis (Palas) as whole signs and Vipalas as

degrees. If the Sun is in movable sign, add the result to the Sun's

longitude at sunrise, if in a fixed sign then to the 9th from that,

and if in a dual sign, then to the 5th from that.

 

If Pranapada Lagna falls into the 2nd, 5th, 9th, 4th, 10th or 11th

from the Janma Lagna, then the native may be declared to be happy and

his birth is auspicious, while if the opposite holds true, then his

birth brings some misfortune.

 

Maharishi Jaimini gives a whole set of rules for judging the effects

from Pranapada:

If Pranapada is in

Aries, the native is strong and wise.

Cancer, the longevity is poor.

Aquarius it gives sweet temper and charming manners, but

can also show deceit and insincerity,if malefics aspect.

 

Virgo it gives a rosy complexion.

Leo it gives a repulsive appearance.

Sagittarius it gives self-respect and honour.

If only benefics are in 3rd from Pranapada, the native is

attached to his father.

If only malefics are there, the native is attached to his

mother.

If both benefics and malefics are there, he is attached to co-

borns.

If benefics in 3rd are aspected by malefics or vice versa,

then the native is neither attached

to parents nor co-borns.

Malefics in 5th from Pranapada, especially if conjoined or

aspected by Moon and Rahu indicate

sorrow.

Tell us, why did you get attracted to Pranpada? Have you tried it in

a few charts and does it tell you anything extra?
