Could someone kindly explain nuances of Malavya yoga.

Does having Venus and Jupiter in a quadrant (7th house) qualify for

this yoga ???

How powerful is this yoga ????

Any real life examples to substantiate ....

Hi:

Below is all info. about Malavya Yoga.

This is one of the Mahapurusha Yogas.

Also called the Yogas of great people. Maha means great and

purusha means man. This is a planet (excluding the Sun and Moon) in

it's own sign or exalted in a kendra (angle). When a planet is a

Mahapurusha Yoga, whatever that planetary energy represents will be

accentuated in the individual's life.

Malavya Yoga is specific to venus exalted or in own sign in Kendra.

The most powerful Malavya Yoga will occur if Venus is exclusively in

the 10th (most powerful Kendra) and exalted or in own house and is a

highly functional benefic as per your ascendant. If the Venus turns

out to be a fucntional malefic then the good will be reduced.

Malavya Yoga denotes Beauty, Charming, Graceful, Artistic...

"Malavya" means relating to or belonging to the country Malava

(Malva) in central India, why this yoga is named thus is a good

question. The natives with Malavya Yoga have the greatest capacity

for enjoyment. The wise and diplomatic qualities of Venus are very

accentuated in natives with this yoga. Their strength comes from

recognizing the true value of anything they might desire or aspire

towards, and therefore not involving themselves in any activity that

costs them more then they can afford; whether the price is material,

emotional or spiritual. These natives also have the greatest ability

to harmoniously enjoy the good things in the world without lusting

or craving after them. Of course, if Venus is afflicted this will

not hold true.

Description: "The Malavya native is lustrous like Chandra, of

slender waist, medium stature, with beautiful lips the lower being

not very fleshy, and having an ordinary red complexion, with white,

even, and beautiful teeth, and a pleasant fragrance to the body.

Handsome and gracefully built one has the gestures, bodily structure

and the shinning eyes of a woman. The limbs are strong and the arms

are long enough to reach to the knees. One has a majestic voice akin

to that of a tusker, and is richly dressed and well ornamented. The

face is 13 anguls in length and ten in breadth, and the temperament

is kapha and vata."

Personality: "One is fond of music, silver, jewels, women,

furniture, clothes and garments; and enjoys all the pleasures of

life to suit their passion. Liberal, meritorious, resolute,

powerful, wealthy, and fortunate, one becomes famous and prospers.

One is blessed with children, spouse, and vehicles, and eats good

meals. One possesses unperturbed senses and becomes a monarch of

cultured mind."

Regards.

i think its only venus that qualifies for this and not Jupiter

Venus should occupy a quadrant in Taurus, Libra or Pisces to form this Yoga.

The native will have a strong mind, body and character; and will be blessed

with fame, fortune, wealth, a goods wife and children. He will enjoy worldly

pleasures. Artist , popularity in opposite sex.Venus period & subperiod would

be important.Also the years 24th.

Thanks

H Paras Ji,

Please help me in understanding the yoga taking tauras lagna as

example :-

IF For TAURAS Lagna, VENUS is present in 1st,4th,7th or 10th house

then this yoga occurs.

What if Venus is co-joined with some other planet, lets say Mercury-

will it be broked or weak or not at all present.

Also note that venus is lagna lord for tauras and libra lagna.

Malavya Yoga is Venus in own or exalted in an angle. It is a

Mahapurusha Yoga. This will make the Heart Chakra very vibrant along

with all the other Venus benefics (prosperity, fame etc....)

"We could expect a malavaya yoga in the horoscope of a millionaire or a beauty

queen. We can see a malavaya yoga in John F. Kennedy's horoscope (which has

been enclosed with the course). In his horoscope, Venus is in its own sign, in

the ninth house (a trikona house). In his horoscope, this resulted in great

riches and because of meeting many beautiful women, a great deal of sexual

enjoyment. However, we can see this yoga also in the horoscope of the peaceable

Gandhi. In this horoscope, Venus is in the first house in a moolatrikona sign.

In both examples, we see expressions of Venus (peace, sexual enjoyment, riches)

but, depending on the rest of the horoscope, the malavaya yoga has unfolded in

different

ways."

Dear Paras Ji

Mahapurusha Yogas are formed only when the planets are in Kendras

and not in trines.Kendras are Vishnu sthanas and Mahapurusha Yogas

forms the five great qualities of Vishnu. Thus Mhapurusha yogas are

called Pancha mahapurusha YOGAS.

Dear DDN

I am not reading the mails daily in this list.Sorry for the delay.

i will cut paste something which would be useful for you.

As per mythology Bhagawan Shri Ramachandra had multiple yogas (infact

all five?).Mahatma Gandhi had Malavya yoga.Mata Amritananda mayi i

beleive has Sasya yoga.Hitler had Ruchaka yoga.Pt.Sanjay Rath has

Hamsa yoga. But you can find this in numerous charts -importance is

yoga forming plantes should not be afflicted and Sun and moon should

be straong.

----------------

Ruchaka "sharp and radiant" Yoga: Mars in an angle, and in own or

exaltation rasi.

Description: "The Ruchaka native will have a long face, attractive

brows, black hair, a neck akin to a conch, a blood red complexion, be

slender from the waist, and have thin shanks. He is 100 anguls in

height, the circumference of his waist is equal to the length of his

face, and he is 100 palas in weight. Pitta will predominate the

constitution."

Personality: "Energetic and hard working, he is very enthusiastic and

daring, liberal, and has spotless lustre. Powerful and brave he loves

to fight wars. He will acquire wealth by doing many daring deeds. Of

fine qualities, fond of all things, he will enjoy great reputation

and fortune, and be a favorite of the king, or a king himself. He

will become renowned for his merits, is discriminating, will be a

leader of an army and will emerge victorious in all his attempts."

Marks of Fortune: "He has the marks of veena (lute), vajra (lightning

spear), trident, dhanus (bow), pasa (noose), Taurus, cakra (wheel),

staff (a staff with a skull at the top deemed to be Shiva's weapon,

and carried by ascetics), and an arrow on the hands and feet."

Religion and Knowledge: "He will honor gods and Brahmins and be well-

versed in occult sciences and scientific knowledge, he is versed in

mantras, the method of praying with them and the art of producing

magic."

Failings: "One will be very strong, but rash, arrogant, irascible, of

cruel temperament and a protector or leader of thieves."

Life and Death: "As ruler of Sahyachala and Vindhya Pradesh, he lives

in comfort and happiness for 70 years, commanding an army with a good

supply of fleet horses, dies by fire or weapons (near a temple) and

goes to the heavenly realms."

"Ruchaka" means very large, agreeable, pleasing, sharp, acid, as well

as indicating any object that brings good luck. The root "rucha"

means bright, radiant. The natives with this yoga are sharp, due to

Mars' directness, but their martial energies are generally focused

towards some good, unless Mars itself is afflicted, in which failings

may come from this yoga such as anger and the potential towards

violence. They are always very energetic and "radiant" with what they

do. The Ruchaka Yoga native's goals and expectations are contingent

upon the ideas and concepts they hold in their minds. Those things

not in harmony with their mental concepts are seen as challenges and

obstacles to overcome, and there is great power and knowledge on how

to overcome them. In horoscopes with indications for spiritual

practices, the native learns how any attachment to their mental

concepts and ideas has an effect on their mental peace and spiritual

mindedness. They then learn how to free their minds from all limiting

concepts and discover what IS.

Bhadra "blessed" Yoga: Mercury in an angle, and in own or exaltation

rasi.

Description: "The Bhadra native is splendorous like a lion and walks

with the gait of an elephant. He has a broad, developed chest, long

and thick arms, and his feet, moustache, and head are beautiful. His

hands and legs are akin to the lotus. Of dark complexion he has

short, black, curly hair, single in each pore (single in each pore is

considered most auspicious and indicates a king). He has an

attractive face like that of a tiger, well-knitted eyebrows, and soft

hair over the cheeks. His body will emanate smells like the earth

after a fresh drizzle, sandal paste, saffron, and elephant's ichor.

His skin and semen are also strong. He is 2000 palas in weight, 84

anguls in height, has his genital organs hidden like that of a horse

or elephant, and he suffers from vata, pitta, and kapha."

Personality: "Bold, independent, valorous, and righteous, he is a

protector of his family and reveres gods and brahmins. A high-

spirited king, he is diligently devoted to the befriending of kinsmen

and well-wishers, though he will not forgive his own men. Sensuous,

he is fond of luxuries and comforts, and his friends share in the

enjoyment of his wealth. Very rich, and firm in prowess, he will lead

men. He is skilled in all the arts, clean, praised by the learned,

and of firm mind with respect to his own business."

Marks of Fortune: "He has the marks of sankha (conch), chakra

(wheel), gada (mace), arrow, lotus, stave, elephant, crocodile,

chariots, dhvaja (flag), and hala (plough) in his hands and feet."

Religion and Knowledge: "Of sattva guna, learned in all respects, he

is well versed in yoga performance and sastras and has a love for

contemplation. He will be adept in expounding the sacred lore. Of

keen intellect, he is eloquent and clever."

Life and Death: "He will rule over Madhya Desha, living happily with

his wife and children, but if his height and extent of outstretched

arms are each 105 anguls, he will be an emperor of the whole earth.

Displaying commanding genius, enjoying vast fame and extensive

wealth, and possessing females, etc. he will always be happy and dies

at 80 (100) at a holy place and ascend to the abode of the Gods."

"Bhadra" means blessed, auspicious, fortunate, prosperous, happy,

good, friendly, kind. The natives with Bhadra Yoga are the most

skilled at bringing things to a concrete realization. They are the

best managers and efficient, practical and successful leaders.

Amongst the Pancha Mahapurusha Yogas, all other factors equal, Bhadra

Yoga is capable of producing the greatest success.

Hamsa "swan" Yoga: Jupiter in an angle, and in own or exaltation rasi.

Description: "The Hamsa native has voice like a swan, with a

beautiful body of whitish complexion. Charming by looks with a

prominent nose, reddish face, red mouth, round forehead, broad cheeks

and round, honey like eyes. His nails are reddish and he has well

formed legs, beautiful feet, and clean limbs. 96 anguls in height, he

will weigh 1600 palas and be kapha in constitution."

Personality: "A king extolled by the good; he is lovely like Kama

Deva (the god of love), renowned, of generous disposition, beneficent

and devoted to virtue. Happy and having every comfort at his command,

he is wealthy, eats sumptuous food, and is delighted in sexually

uniting, though being passionate his lust remains unfulfilled. He has

great virile power (indriya). He is fond of swimming and playing in

watery places. Of warm speech he is blessed with a beautiful wife. He

will be respected and recognized by the government."

Marks of Fortune: "He has the marks of matsya (fish), ankush (the

iron hook with which elephants are driven), dhanus (bow), sankha

(conch), kamala (lotus), and trident on his hands and feet."

Religion and Knowledge: "Intent on acquiring knowledge of the sacred

scriptures; he is acute; and has great merits. He is devotional and

reveres his seniors, elders, gods and Brahmins."

Life and Death: "He enjoys life fully and as ruler of a land situated

between the Ganges and Yamuna, over Sura Sena, or Ghandarva, he dies

in a forest after attaining the age of 100 (82, 90) years."

"Hamsa" means a swan or other aquatic bird that is considered as a

bird of passage. The natives with Hamsa Yoga are the most faith

inspired, and they are afforded the most protection and blessings

from difficulties and suffering. They find greater meaning in life;

have a good capacity for foresight, and the good fortune to have and

choose the good over the bad. An interesting facet of this yoga is

that it does create strong sexual passion, just as the classical

texts states. Amongst the Mahapurusha Yogas, Hamsa Yoga grants the

longest longevity.

Malavya Yoga: Venus in an angle, and in own or exaltation rasi.

Description: "The Malavya native is lustrous like Chandra, of slender

waist, medium stature, with beautiful lips the lower being not very

fleshy, and having an ordinary red complexion, with white, even, and

beautiful teeth, and a pleasant fragrance to the body. Handsome and

gracefully built one has the gestures, bodily structure and the

shinning eyes of a woman. The limbs are strong and the arms are long

enough to reach to the knees. One has a majestic voice akin to that

of a tusker, and is richly dressed and well ornamented. The face is

13 anguls in length and ten in breadth, and the temperament is kapha

and vata."

Personality: "One is fond of music, silver, jewels, women, furniture,

clothes and garments; and enjoys all the pleasures of life to suit

their passion. Liberal, meritorious, resolute, powerful, wealthy, and

fortunate, one becomes famous and prospers. One is blessed with

children, spouse, and vehicles, and eats good meals. One possesses

unperturbed senses and becomes a monarch of cultured mind."

Religion and Knowledge: "Learned, one knows the meaning of the sacred

scriptures, and is clever in the application of the three regal

powers: strength, capacity and counsel."

Life and Death: "One lives happily for seventy (77) years as ruler of

Lata, Sindhu and Malva and then leaves for his heavenly abode after

shuffling off his mortal coils in a sacred place through yoga or

penance."

These natives also have the greatest ability

to harmoniously enjoy the good things in the world without lusting or

craving after them. Of course, if Venus is afflicted this will not

hold true.

Sasa "rabbit" Yoga: Saturn in an angle, and in own or exaltation rasi.

Description: "The Sasa native has slightly raised, small sized teeth

and a smallish face, but not so his body which is long and slender of

92 anguls height. He has thin nails and large eyeballs. Of dark form,

he has a weak, slender waist, and beautiful thighs. His teeth are

somewhat protruding and his eyes resemble the lotus though they may

be wrathful as well."

Personality: "He is valorous, strong, lively, virile, crafty, and

fond of women. A royal favorite and skilled in all assignments, he

will be the chief of a country, a mayor, a king, a minister or a

general. He acts with apprehension, and being fault finding, others

cannot hide their perfidy from him. Spirited and bountiful, he is

extolled by all, and famous. Engaged in agriculture he thus has

plenty of grains, etc. He has good servants and is interested in

hills, forests, forts and metallurgy, and would even deceive in his

eager pursuit of metallurgy. He is also devoted to his mother."

Marks of Fortune: "He has vertical lines on his palms and soles

resembling a mala (garland), veena (lute), mridanga (drum), weapons,

wheel, conch, and cot."

Religion and Knowledge: "He is very intelligent and wise, and enjoys

wandering in forests and mountains. He is well versed in the

loopholes (weaknesses) of the enemy."

Failings: "Interested in the fair sex, he is a voluptuary and

inclined to have intrigues with women not his own, playing the

paramour with the objects of his guilty love. Cruel hearted and

wicked he usurps other's wealth and is happy."

Life and Death: "He rules happily over several parts of the earth

with his body afflicted by colic or fistula, and then leaves for his

heavenly abode at the age of 70"

"Sasa" means a hare, or rabbit, symbolizing that the natives with

this yoga are largely fear based, as a rabbit symbolizes fear. Much

of what these natives accomplish and do are motivated by fear and

done in order to create a security structure that has the goal of

preventing the realization of their fears. Generally some great

trauma or difficulty in the native's early life, which they are

constantly trying to compensate for, lends strength to their fears.

The true strength of Sasa Yoga is perseverance, whether or not the

native has skills or intelligence, they are sure to succeed due to

sheer perseverance.

Amongst all the Mahapurusha Yogas, Sasa Yoga is a very painful yoga,

one that indicates a pained personality as well as a personality that

is painful to be with or live with. Sasa Yoga natives are generally

very controlling due to the compellation of their fears, which cause

them to worry that others may make mistakes. These natives generally

feel very isolated, but can be so difficult to be around that even

their loved ones may avoid them, while at the same time feeling sorry

for them. The strong influence of Jupiter or Venus, and to a lesser

degree, of Mercury, can reduce somewhat, but never entirely, the

painful and negative effects of Sasa Yoga.

INFLUENCE OF MULTIPLE MAHAPURUSHA YOGAS

"These yogas bestow upon the native an empire and perfection. The

person who happens to have one, two, three, four or all the five

Mahapurusha Yogas will respectively be: with 1- a fortunate man, with

2- one equal to a king, with 3- a king, with 4- an Emperor, with 5-

one superior to an Emperor." -Phaladeepika 6, 4
