Guest guest Report post Posted January 1, 2004 ~ Om Namah Shivaya ~ Kantaka Shani - When Saturn is in 1st, 8th or 10th from Lagna, AL or Natal moon, it is called Kataka Shani and even the most competent people feel problems in there life (especially work related). Don't just follow it blindly, there are subdivisions too, that presently I don't know how to calculate, they are 1)Swarna Pada 2)Rajat Pada 3) Lauh (iron) Pada - This one is really painful and terrible. The remedy lies in Reciting Shri Rudram and worshipping Saturn. Also one should pray Shri Ganesha and Shri Hanumaan Ji. Kindly follow the extract of the following article "Saturn, the destroyer of pride, takes approximately 2 ½ years to transit in a rasi [zodiac sign]. Being the slowest moving planet, it takes almost 30 years to cover one round of all zodiac signs. Of the thirty years to cover one round, 22 ½ years are unfavourable and as such, people are usually under one or the other negative effects of Saturn, like Sade-sati Sani, Kantaka sani, Ashtama Sani etc. When Saturn moves in the twelfth house, janma rasi and the second house, the continuous effect of Saturn for these 7 ½ years is known as Sade-sati Sani effect [7 ½ Sani].
