Tanvir ,

Ganesha has been given a boon from brahma for progeny and writing of luck for a

person ,below stroy explains it.

W.Sharma

Once Ganesha was walking along a forest path. Lost in his reveries and delight

at the beautiful day, he forgot to look at the path ahead of him. Turning a

corner, he bumped into Brahma, who was on his way to the river. The bump quite

knocked out the wind out of Brahma. He glared at Ganesha and said in anger:

"Son of Parvati, I. I.... -" But the curse he was about to pronounce upon this

impudent youngster with an elephant head died before it was born - for Ganesha,

seeing that Brahma was angry, had begun to dance. At first his big belly shook

and his feet thudded noisily. The flowering creepers swung away in alarm, and

hordes of chattering black-faced monkeys

scurried up to the very tops of the trees, their small babies clinging to their

underbellies. But as Ganesha concentrated, his fat body took on an elegance all

its own, and his dance was as beautiful as the rhythm of the tides and the music

of the stars. Brahma's frown, trying hard to stay on his face, melted away, and

he broke into a smile. "Truly you are a son of Shiva, Ganesha," said Brahma.

"Like the strokes of a pen that end each verse of a poem, Shiva's dance ends

each cycle of creation. But your dance - your dance has in it the laughter of

creation itself, the joy of the universe." Finally Ganesha stamped and

whittled, did a final whirl, and ended with his feet planted squarely on the

ground. He faced Brahma, laughing, and held his right hand, palm facing out, in

the gesture of blessing called the abhaya mudra. Brahma bowed down to Ganesha in

respect. "You who are young, yet have such exquisite dancing

in your soul, I bow to you. I was about to curse for interrupting my thoughts,

but now I bless you instead, O Ganesha. You will be known by people as the

Master of the Dance. All who perform this art in town and in city, in temple and

in court, must first invoke your blessing. May it be so, as long as the earth

shall live." In the classical Indian dance style called Bharatanatyam,

Ganesha's gesture of blessing, the abhaya mudra, means "be not afraid." Even

today, every Bharatanatyam performance begins with a special brief dance that

recalls Ganesha's grace and seeks his blessings. Tanvir <tanvir (AT) siriusbb (DOT) com>

Hello Tanvir:

I was reading some old posts and noted you had asked a question about

the results of placing an idol of "Dancing Ganesh" near the headstand

of the bed.

I've been worshipping Dancing Ganesha for a couple of years and here

is my experience:

1) My demoness like 3rd wife who had turned mine and my parents life

into poison was miraculously legally kicked out of my life since I

began worshipping dancing Ganesha with faith.

2) I used to be perpetually agaitated due to the void in my marital

life. Even since I placed the idol of Dancing Ganesh near my bed,

I've lost the agitated urge to get married ASAP and now I peacefully

await for Ganesh to send a REAL life-partner with Jupiterain traits

into my life who'll take me to my dharma.

3) I'm also worshipping Dancing Ganesh with a special mantra. And,

every time my ex-wife tried to do something horrible to me/my family,

her life miraculously turned upside down to the extent that she and

her crook family is on the run. I cannot disclose this mantra as I'm

bound by promise of non-disclosure.

So, to conculde, Dancing Ganesh has worked wonders for me for marital

problems.

Thanks Mukund Ji, for sharing your experience. Lord Ganesha is a very

auspicious and kind Deity. And in my last visit to India I did not forget to buy

one statue in dancing pose :-) I think keeping such statues in the home offers a

subtle blessings from those Deities to the native.

Best wishes,

Tanvir.

Thanks Mukund and Tanvir Ji for the insights,

Just a few questions

1. Where to keep the dancing ganesha in your house, Should it be only

placed near the bed or can be kept at any suitable place like the

pooja room where all the other deites reside.

2. Regarding the worship, couls you slightly elaborate on this.

Also any other things that will help the devotee. ?

This may be a great help to all those in need.

Hello Buku:

Dancing Ganesha is Lord Ganesh in a happy mood/naughty mood/giving

mood. Therefore, he spreads happiness whereever his is placed. It is

specifically recommended to be placed near the head stand of the bed

where the couple sleeps.

Hello Manju:

Ya, I've seen dancing Ganesha in many homes (not just in the bedroom)

so it may be good for Vastu; however, I don't know this for a fact--I

know nothing about Vastu.

Photo is fine, a very kind person on the VA group gave me a photo so

I used a photo until I was able to procure an idol.

I've heard many stories about the position of the trunk and I don't

know the details. But, Ganesh is the Ganesh is the Ganesh, he is the

symbol of everything that is auspicious so why worry about the trunk,

just worhip with faith.

I was told that dacing Ganapati represents the MahaGanapati so his

mantra should be used. Its a very common and popular mantra, here it

goes:

"Om Rheem Gam Rheem MahaGanaptiye Namah Swaha."

Swaha means "I offer myself to you" OR "I surrender to you" so make

sure you're clean/pure when you use a mantra that ends in "Swaha."

My definition of clean/pure is being free of alcohol or items/way of

life that doesn't fit with places of worship/time of worship, i.e.

you can't have two call-girls in your home, be high on alcohol and

then use "swaha" in the mantra--in such a situation, the diety will

hurt you very badly.

I have to get some work done now, Bye.

its been a wonderful learning, lata didi sent a pic. link which i shall use.

Also, reading your other posts & replies in general, i must say, you're

somebody i'd term "straight-as-an-arrow" type :-)

i am sure you are rushed & are quite busy, but i kindly request you

to post such useful & really wonderful articles which not only

generate interest but help many folks out here

as an example, the picture will be printed in full color, a small puja done

& will be in my bedroom today evening :-) thanks to you & didi.

take care, god bless you all

Re: dancing ganesha
