Dear List,

The effects are many; the effects take place as per the placement of

planets in one's chart. After all, any eclipse ia also a transit.

Let the pregnant woman remain inside her residence. Till the duration

of eclipse she can think of God and read good parables, receite the

name of the Almighty, recite the name of her personal God.....in any

language. That is enough. Rest is taken care of...

C.S. Ravindramani.

Dear List,

Also as per the customs - it is important not to cut

anything - be it vegtables or fruits or cloth etc ( in

case she is fond of stiching)

Best Regards

Nilesh

Anshupriya ji,

<<<Can anyone enlighten me on the effects of eclipses (solar and

lunar) on pregnant women and suggest ways of warding these

effects. There is a solar eclipse on October 3rd.>>>

Ravindramani ji and Nilesh ji have already touched upon this

topic, so let me look at another angle - that of spirituality.

On Oct 3rd, Surya, Chandra, and Ketu will be conjunct in Hasta.

Both the luminiaries will be afflicted by the chaya graha, and

this is "bad" but, from a religious angle, it offers some

interesting interpretations.

Firstly, Surya, though an enemy of Ketu, attains Ucchatva in

Ketu's Nakshatra Ashwini.

Also, Chandra will be in own star on that day.

So Chandra, representing the mind, will be conjunct Surya,

representing the soul. Both will be with the divine Mokshakaraka

Ketu.

The mind is thinking about the soul, while the soul is

contemplating Moksha!

So, when the ecipse is upon us, let us all think of God and

practice Vairagya [renunciation]!

Of course, 2 weeks later, in Revati, Rahu and Chandra will be

conjunct.

Rahu is a materialist, but as per Shani Vad Rahu, he is also

associated with Vairagya. In fact, as per Shri Bhasin's

"Astrology in Vedas" Guru attains Ucchatva in Kataka in spite of

the fact that it is owned by the fickle [mind] Chandra because

it will be in Pushya, star of Vairagya Karaka Sani.

Also, since the star is Budha's star Revati, let us use our

intellect on that day to reject materialism and practice Viveka

[discrimination].

Thus, let the two eclipses strengthen our resolve to attain

liberation!
