The above combination mentioned by you is Buddhaditya yoga, and even Mercury

is not combust because of retrogression. So if this combination influences

the 5th house in Rasi, Navamsa or Siddhamsa by ocupying or aspecting it,

then you will have a brilliant intellect.

 

Apart from this, let's come to your question. Vedic cosmology is quite an

intricate science, as we, earthly people have one way of seeing things, and

the residents of the higher planetary systems, the Rishish and Devas have

another, much broader vision. So if we explain things according to their

vision, it will substantially differ from what we can perceive from here

(both with our senses and their extensions, i.e. research equipment like

telescopes etc.). This is whiy the Bhagavata Purana's statements about the

structure of the universe are not always easy to tally with the findings of

the modern science, although theyb represent the highest truth.

 

So from the practical point of view, my suggestion is that we should stick

with our perception, i.e. geocentric point of view, as in actuality we are

observing the movements of the planets and the zodiac from the surface of

the Earth, and exactly this is what we will be using for the construction of

our astrological chart. Let me say an example. Sometimes we might have a

very close conjunction of even 5-6 planets in the zodiac. But what does this

mean? It means that from our point of view all of them are close to that

part of the sky. But the same conjuncrtion, if viewed from the Sun or the

Moon, would not be a conjunction at all. Thus in astrology it's the best to

follow the movements of the planets from a geocentric point of view.

 

Of course in this view the Sun will rotate around the Earth, which is the

same as the Earth rotating around the Sun and spinning around its axis. This

spinning will bring the dailiy motion of the Sun over the horizons, as well

as that of the zodiac itself, which we usually term as the movement of the

Lagna. On the other hand, the yearly movement of the Sun in the zodiac would

be the same as the Earth's one year circle around the Sun, during which the

Sun wuill appear before the background of each Rasi respectively. Let me

give an illustrative example of this.

 

You are in a room with round walls, which have 12 paintings on them. and

there's someone standing in the middle of the room. If you go around the

person in a circle, always watching him, you will see all the 12 pictures

appear behind the person. If you at the same time rotate around your own

axis, you will sometime see him, and sometimes not. But you will perceive

the same thing if you stand in the middle of the room, and the other person

makes a circle around you. You will always see him passing in front of

another picture. If at the same time you would rotate around your own axis

in the opposite direction, you would sometimes see the other person, and

sometimes not. Actually, if we would introduce other actors in the play,

some rotationg around me and some around the other person, we would get the

replica of the movements of the planets.
