Guest guest
Namaste Guruji, Lesson 1 1. Explain the Changing of the seasons Earth revolves round the Sun and also rotates on its own axis. Days and Nights are caused by the rotation of the earth on its axis. The Axis of the earth makes an angle of 23 1/2 degree with the vertical. The fact that earth spins round the Sun with its inclined axis causes the Sun's rays to make different angles at the same place at different times. Due to the variations in angles, the distribution of the Solar heat is not the smae at the same place. This is because greater the angle the Sun rays makes with the earth surface, longer the distance these rays has to travel through the atmosphere before touching the earth surface. The dust paritcles and other matters present in the atmosphere absorb mauch of the heat contained in these rays. The uneven distribution of solar heat(at different time of the year) on the earth leads to change of seasons. 2. Days when sun does not rise or set in different parts of the globe... explain This phenomenon is experienced in the Polar regions(North and South poles). Here for six months one can see the Sun continuosly i.e. sun never sets. and for another six months one cannot see the sun i.e. sun never rises. When sun is seen in North pole it is not seen in South pole and vice versa, except for two days in the year. This phenomenon is again due the inclined axis of the earth and also due the fact that though the earth is spherical in shape it is flat at the poles. At a given instance only one pole(of the two poles) will be tilted towards the Sun. This changes every six months. When a particular pole is tilted towards the Sun, it is Summer(Sun never sets) The other pole then is tilted away from the sun and it is winter(Sun never rises). 3. Difference between Moving and Non Moving Bodies. Moving bodies are termed as Planets i.e. they move and change places and Non moving bodies are known as Stars. Stars are located at a huge distance from earth and hence their movement(if any) is not perceived(their influence) by living beings on earth. (Exception : Sun is taken as a Planet in astrology, though it is a Star in astronomy. Humans live on earth and since earth moves around the Sun, it appears(felt on earth - relative movement) that the Sun is moving. Rahu and Ketu are not bodies but magnetic regions) Planets(Moving bodies) influence living beings on earth. Stars(Non moving bodies) do not influence(appreciable) living beings on earth due to far distance. Planets do not twinkle but Stars appear to twinkle. (The twinkling of Stars is due to its position is far away from earth and earth's atmosphere - particles in them, causes this twinkling when seen from earth.) 4. When I was born, Cancer sign was rising in the eastern horizon at my birth place and hence my Ascendent is Cancer. Moon was in Pushya Star and hence my Janma rasi is Cancer. In my chart, Moon is in the sixth house from Sun, I was born a day before Poornima. Guest guest
HariBol Radhik (again), Again I like to Thank You, for many things, but in particular for sending ur lessons to me. They were very helpful. Remember to tell me anything u may like to order from India. What I am going to do is send the books to my house in India and have my Dad pick them up when he goes, this way he has no excuses of not bringing them. I gotta think of things u see. :-) So dont hesitate to ask and let me know as soon as u can. Theres no promises though on getting the books though, I say this cause my Dad is going. :-) Vishal --- Rajaram Pai <rajarampai wrote: > Namaste Guruji, > > > Lesson 1 > > 1. Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Alexandra, Vivek and Katti, Namaste. I have received your assignments, and gone through them. A few notes on Alexandra's work: 3. Moving and Non Moving Bodies. Moving Bodies are the Planets Grahas. Non Moving are the Stars Nakshatras. Nakshatras provide the backdrop or framework for the planets to move around in eg. The provide 27 stations for the cycle of the Moon. They are used for naming, matching couples for marriage, Dasas etc. Planets represent humans that play a role in It is correct to base the Bhacakra on the Nakshatra division, but you should note that in fact they indicate much more then mere Kuta matching. They will indicate the mental/psychological structure of the person, and much more. You will have lessons on Nakshatras later on. one's life and Vishnu's incarnations. Rasis are situations and the whole Zodiac is Lord Vishnu. Movement and placement of planets ahve more direct influence on us as they are closer than stars. Well, I agree that the planets play the active role, but it wouldn't be true thar Rasis don't influence the native. Are you not influenced by your environment? Planets give results in combination with Dasas. Dasas are used for timing the effects of Grahas and Rasi as well. Actually they do. Everything within the creation influences us. > Planets do not twinkle but Stars appear to > twinkle. > (The twinkling of Stars is due to its position is > far away from earth and earth's atmosphere - particles > in them, > causes this twinkling when seen from earth.) This is correct, but the brightness of the planets also changes with time due to different factors.
