Dear List Members

Namaste!

My husband suffers from a problem of vitiligo (skin depigmentation). At

present, western traditional medicine cannot offer any cure. Does anyone know

of any treatment (Ayurvedic, or other) that could help, or any practitioner that

could provide useful advice, or some kind of solution. My husband was born on:

16 June 1950, at 8.20 pm, in London (England).

So far, we have only tried the western approach. There may be another avenue.

Thanks to all.

Dany

Hello,

Vitiligo is an auto-immune disease. Probably your husband can find more help

with alternative approaches who will treat the whole: bodyand mind. As the

immune responses express how we relate to our environment,(the skin being

the barrier between "me" and "not-me") perhaps counseling or hypnose can

also help.

Your husband is actually going through very deep personal changes and this

can also be the reason for his skin illness.

There is an interesting website where you can read a lot about medical

matters : http://www.drweil.com

I think a good naturopath or ayurvedic doctor can help, you could ask in

local health food stores. I know of a very good ayurvedic institute in Santa

Fe NM USA

phone (505)983-9385

e mail vedicinst

web access : www.vedanet.com

Best regards

Dear Margarita

Thank you very much for your e-mail and for your very useful suggestions.

We live in England so it will be difficult for us to use the Ayurvedic

Institute you recommend in Santa Fe but some Gjlist members have given me

the address of a couple of good Ayurvedic/Naturopath practicioners in London

so we're going to start from there.

By the way, how did you know that my husband is "going through very deep

personal changes"?........ I'll be interested to find out........

Kind regards

Dany

Dear Swee

Thank you very much for your e-mail and for suggesting Dr. Ravi Ponniah. We

only live 40 miles away from London so it will be an easy trip.

Thanks you again for taking the trouble of letting me know.

Best regards.
