Dear Friends,

The Tropical Zodiac is based on the false ancient Greek notion that the

Equinox Points are "fixed" while the fixed stars "move".

Tying the signs to the Northern Hemisphere's seasonal changes is a logical

error that insults the Southern Hemisphere, where the seasons are the

opposite. A person born in New York City on December 25th is a Capricorn

because he was born just after the Winter Solstice. Meanwhile, a person born

that day in Sydney, Australia, was born just after the Summer Solstice. That

would make the person born in Sydney on Dec. 25 a Cancer!

Now, really, I ask you -- how can two people born on the same day have Sun

Opposite Sun?

(In my opinion, the only thing Tropical Astrology is good for is calculating

a planet's right ascension. Just look at the planet's Tropical longitude at

a given time, and then, using a Tropical table of houses, look up the

sidereal time for that planet's Tropical longitude being at the Midheaven.)

As for the differences between the Western Sidereal and Jyotish schools, they

are so miniscule compared to Tropical vs Sidereal that it's not funny. There

will be plenty of time to work them out after we've overthrown the Holy

Tropical Church and buried Tropical Astrology once and for all.

Later,

Kevin/Baraka
