Guest guest
Dear Das, Just got this from another group, and was wondering if you realized the data was incorrect. How is G3 coming along? I really want so much to get it. Namaste, chrys333 Dear Alicia, Ron, and List Members, OK...So I didn't have my latte BEFORE I typed that babble below...However, there IS a lesson to all this - never trust data from a "source", such as GJ, without first checking to see if everything is in 'order', or at the very least, a "probable" order, because not only does he (Das) have the Zone listed wrong in GJ, (and I just went along with that, ;-( he also has Paramahansa listed as a "Female", which completely escaped my rational mind this morning...Hmm...The heat and humidity must have temporarily fried my brain.... Sorry guys. ;-)) ~Namaste~ Sandy
Guest guest
Hello Regarding the famous data in GJ: I got my data from a collector, paid for it, but never "massaged" it nor "edited" it. I just imported it. Part of the way I got so much done so fast was by NOT getting into all the details. I wish I had the time or person to edit the fame files. It's something that needs to be done. The setting for male verse female is TOTALLY unimportant and affects NOTHING in any astrology instance, nor in my program. So that point doesn't matter at all. As for time zones and so on, yes, the data is imported with many things in error. There are things you can do to fix this easily. Namely, pull up a fame chart, then TAB THROUGH the birth data fields. This will pull in the correct time zone and long/lat etc. for most people, or most cases in other words. Sometimes the city names are not typed correctly, then more intervention on your part is required. In some cases, with old births, before the big 15 day date shift we had in our Western Gregorian Calendar, the dates are "the other way". In other words, GJ does NOT automatically account for this calendar shift. It's a puritan in that regard. So some of the old charts need to have their dates of birth changed by 15 days to account for this. I want to have all this fixed, but just haven't prioritized it high enough on the list of things to handle. Much of the data is fine. However, one should at least do the tabbing check mentioned above, in all cases.
