Guest guest Report post Posted June 16, 2000 Dear esteemed GJ list members, Namaste. I am desirous of feedback from any of you regarding Saturn's placement in the first house for a gemini lagna native. As lord of the ninth, say in the first, we can expect positive results, but Saturn also rules the eighth which, in my limited understanding, could only produce negative results. What about Jupiter for aries lagna, ruling the ninth and twelfth? How are we to interpret planets simultaneous lordship of positive and negative houses. Of course if you are of the "all is one" school of thought, it doesn't matter since positive and negative are the same. But as I am hopelessly, "one with duality", I guess I'd like to know how this works. Thanks in advance. Guest guest Report post Posted June 16, 2000 Hi Speaking momentarily as if things are not all one as God... Yes, you need to learn how to interpret planets with their dual lordships. Gemini is such an ascendent, that yes, Saturn plays an odd role indeed. It means that they, Gemini Lagna folks, take religion and anti-religion (if you will) as one, hey there it is again. So they are particularly "Mercurial", or dimplomatic, shifty, in their approach to religion and irreligion. This is normal for Mercury, which doesn't like to take a strong stand. For Aries Lagna, which I am, Jupiter rules the 9th and 12th. So it rules their connection to God and Guru, as well as their connection to loss. This makes them particularly able to be fanatical. Because, the 12th house lends itself to giving oneself. It rules donations, giving one's energy freely or with abandon, which are twelfth house things. So Jupiter gives a very strong desire for Aries lagna to believe and give themselves. This is consistant with Aries "all or nothing" and "quick and thoughtless" nature. So you'll see that the way planets perform their dual lordships is consistant with the lagna sign, and gives it it's special color. Just see that the planet DOES indeed carry both houses with it wherever it goes, giving some of each house in all things it touches. Of course, a newcomer to Jyotish could use clear definitions for all planets of dual lordship, for all lagnas, but that is more than I can go into here. But if it was laid out clearly, you'd see some of each of their two houses in the readings. das goravani
Guest guest Report post Posted June 16, 2000 Deatermine the sign which is stronger to give results. In both cases, the Moolatrikona is the ninth house and hence the planet is inclined to do good. Guest guest Report post Posted June 17, 2000 Dear Greg, Namaste Greg and welcome to jyotish.I have Gemini lagna and am in a Saturn Major period since 1995.My Saturn is in the 4th house and I can relate to what you are talking about here.I am sure it plays out differently for everyone and depends alot on what the other planets are doing.I am experienceing some troubling times since Saturn dasha started and also am getting the opportunity to dive deeper into spirituality.I believe that if it wasn't for the difficult time I may not pray as much or strive to find out why things are hard.So I cna feel the 8th and 9th house come into play for me.My 4th house is home and my wife is going through a health crises as she has cancer. So Saturn in the 4th for me is some challenges at home that must be faced.I also am getting grace from my guru and I have been led to many spiritual people and have started studying jyotish.I also started a new carreer when my Saturn dasha started as a fire-fighter/ paramedic which also shows up in my chart. My wifes sickness also shows up in her chart as well as very similar struggles showing up in my childrens chart. So I would have to say that the 9th house is stronger as these spiritual learnings will last forever whereas the difficulties I believe will pass.So I wish you luck my Geminii brother and you are on the right track, so keep studying a nd asking questions and you will see how everything plays out in your chart.Hare Krishna. Guest guest Report post Posted June 17, 2000 Thanks Gobind and thanks to Das also for the feedback. I'm really not the bookish type as I don't have the patience at this point, but this kind of real life exchange helps alot. > > Dear Greg, > Namaste Greg and welcome to jyotish.I have Gemini lagna and am in a > Saturn Major period since 1995.My Saturn is in the 4th house and I can relate > to what you are talking about here.I am sure it plays out differently for > everyone and depends alot on what the other planets are doing.I am > experienceing some troubling times since Saturn dasha started and also am > getting the opportunity to dive deeper into spirituality.I believe that if it > wasn't for the difficult time I may not pray as much or strive to find out > why things are hard.So I cna feel the 8th and 9th house come into play for > me.My 4th house is home and my wife is going through a health crises as she > has cancer. So Saturn in the 4th for me is some challenges at home that must > be faced.I also am getting grace from my guru and I have been led to many > spiritual people and have started studying jyotish.I also started a new > carreer when my Saturn dasha started as a fire-fighter/ paramedic which also > shows up in my chart. My wifes sickness also shows up in her chart as well as > very similar struggles showing up in my childrens chart. So I would have to > say that the 9th house is stronger as these spiritual learnings will last > forever whereas the difficulties I believe will pass.So I wish you luck my > Geminii brother and you are on the right track, so keep studying a nd asking > questions and you will see how everything plays out in your chart.Hare > Krishna. > Peace, > Gobind > > ------ > GIVE YOUR WIFE A BREAK!
