Guest guest Report post Posted April 7, 2000 I was given a reading many years ago by a well-known astrologer who told me that I am destined to suffer in relationships due to numerous malefic influences on the significators of marriage. The reading left me extremely pessimistic and fearful regarding relationships, which makes me wonder if there is any way to inform people of the negative potentials inherent in their chart without causing them to become worried and/or cynical about their future. It is possible to give "bad news" to a client in a manner that isn't harmful to thier hapiness as long as the astrolger has some skill in assisting the client to understand that they won't be any happier or unhappier on account of the "bad" news. The nature of the chart would depend on what tact to take, combinations for spirituality and those for extreme negative thinking would first have to be analyzed and then one would have to look to see if the client is need centered, thought motivated etc to see how best to deal with it. I would appreciate a Doctor who would definitely tell me what the severity of the ailment is rather than not inform me and keep me anxious. Definitely an Astrologer like a Doctor or for that matter a Tax consultant / Lawyer cannot be impervious but should only alert and equip the native on the relative strengths and weaknesses in a chart. As for me I always check the strengths of the Sun, the Moon (indicates the mind), Mercury (indicates the nerves) and Lagna before venturing on any predictions that are construed to be negative. Above all these, I firmly believe true love just happens regardless of the readings of an astrologer. So just go ahead... . I would guess that the astrologer who was giving you the reading was either inexperienced, or did not have much compatibility with you. The good news in jyotish is that there are REMEDIES for all those problems. There are helpful religious ceremonies, chants, charitable acts and gemstones. Which specific ones apply to your case depend upon the details of your chart. I recommend that you either try again with a different astrologer, or study more about jyotish and the remedies. Some of the more commonly occuring ones are the following: Saturn or Rahu in 4th from lagna or the Moon. Benfic aspect, however, helps. The svamsa being Cancer, Scorpio or Capricorn under malefic influences by conjunction or Rasi drishti. A dominance of planets falling in the houses 4-7, creates a lot of feelings of dissapointment as their is a lot of need expectation. Then there is a lengthy list of yogas for insanity, etc that you can view and print from my website given below. These yogas all make it difficult for the native to enjoy even the good things in life. FOr spirituality some more important commonly occurring combinations are the following: Jupiter in the Svamsa, or secondarily in the 5th, 9th, 2nd, or 3rd from the svamsa. By far the best in the svamsa. Rasi Aspects of Jupiter to these houses is also beneficial. The navamsa lord of the 5th lord aspected by Jupier or VEnus in the Rasi makes one devoted to the GUru. 10th lord in the 9th and the 9th lord strong and influenced by Jupiter and VEnus makes one involved in meditation, mantra, knowledge, etc. the same if the 10th lrod is in the 9th and and the navamsa lord of the 10th lord is strong. Shambanda between the 9th and 10th lords and the navmasa lord of the 10th lord is strong does the same. 5th lord in 12th under beneficial influences. Lagna lord, the Sun and the Moon in own, exaltation or friends rasi and in angles or trines causes Srikantha yoga making one a devotee of Lord Shiva. VEnus, 9th lord, and and Mercury in exaltation, own or friendly rasis in angle or trines causes Srinatha Yoga, makes one a devotee of VIshnu. Jupiter, 5th lord and Saturn in exaltation, own or friendly rasis and in angels or trines causes VIrinichi Yoga, makeing one a devotee of Brahma. THe lord of the navamsa of the lord of the 2nd lord being Satur or Mars in a trine or angle with malefics makes one have knowledge of six shastras. Jupiter strong in the 2nd and the navamsa lord of the 2nd lord is in an angle aspected by a benefic makes one a mastger of 6 shastras as well.
