When the air flows more from the right nostril, the body's heat

increases (pingala--sun).

When the air flows more from the left nostril (ida--moon), the body

becomes cooler.

When one sleep on the left side the right nostril is becomes more

opened and so the bodily heat increases, good for digestion. Therefore it

is recommended to rest on this side after eating.

Sleeping on the right side of the body will open the left nostril

and the body will become cooler during sleep. Good for peaceful sleep.

However, there may be reasons to sleep on the left side of the body

such as if the room is too cold.
