Open Letter to President Bush

====================================

My Dear Mr. President,

I would never think of writing you because I am know that you are

far too busy to personally read the huge quantity of

correspondence that you are receiving. But as last night you came

to me in my dream and spoke to me just as if we were intimate

friends I took it that this may a sign from God that my writing

you at this time may be prove to be fruitful.

You are no doubt a great hero because of your strong stand

against terrorism and also for bringing the concept of God back

to the White House. I, and many other Americans, very much love

and respect you for your courageous leadership. This is why you

were re-elected with such an overwhelming majority of the voters'

support.

I am a spiritual master in the Hare Krishna tradition, based in

Austin, Texas. When you were the Texas governor we used to live

just a few blocks away from each other. My life's mission is to

bring peace and prosperity to the entire world by educating and

elevating all peoples of the world to a non-sectarian

God-centered conception of life. The fact is that God can be

understood in a logical and scientific manner which is in perfect

harmony with all the great religious traditions of the world.

Religion is actually one, to love God. It does not matter whether

we call Him Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, or Christ because He is

multi-lingual. He understands our love and devotion for Him no

matter language we may choose to address Him in. There is one

Supreme God who was has been loved, adored, and served by all the

great spiritual masters throughout the history of the world.

I am presently on a multi-nation preaching tour to spread this

enlightened, cohesive understanding of religion throughout the

world. This email is being written to you from Istanbul. I have

come here to try to create a spiritual enlightenment revolution

in the Muslim world. If I am successful in my humble attempt this

will bring an end of the horrible menace of terrorism which

threatens to completely destroy the modern civilized world.

When I return to USA in May I would very like to have a personal

meeting with you so I can discuss in further detail the leading

role that the USA must play in bringing a new era of peace and

prosperity to the entire human society. If you find this idea to

be congenial, kindly have your aides notify me and I shall be

happy to meet you at whatever location you find to be most

suitable.

Hoping this meets you in the best of health and in a cheerful

mood,

Your eternal well-wisher,

Sankarshan Das Adhikari

Sounds nice but I hear some ego here?

You're going to be the end of terrorism? Don't set yourself up like that - it's not realistic and you may end up feeling too self-important [i'm not saying you do].

typo in first sentence likely would stop Bush from reading .... if he caught it, that is.

You've got to stick your foot in the door with the first few words. "Spiritual master" and interfaith are good attention grabbers. "Hare Krishna" unfortunately still carries negative connotations in the redneck world of the common American. "India's glorious religious heritage" might work better.

A theologian dedicated to uniting the world's religions certainly has to play a role in ending jihad. I would hope that one day the President gets the fortune to be advised by a Prabhupada disciple.

Bush isn't a demon and I don't think he get's a kick out of using military force as you've alluded to.

Aren't women and children being murdered on the Israeli side too? Why you're not mentioning that seems odd? To say that the U.S. supports killing as you have mentioned is unfair and untrue. You have a gripe - with Israel? If so - why?

Yeah, probably better to use something like Vaishnava. Most people in the west only associate the 'Hare Krishnas' with airport weirdness. They know next to nothing about their actual beliefs.
