http://www.ebeacon.indiainabook.com/other_books.htm EXPERIENCES OF

SAI.BA.NI.SA WITH SHIRDI

SAI I am sure that all devotees have read the 42nd, 43rd and 44th chapter of

Sai Satcharitra where, in SAI attaining his heavenly abode was described and

how people of Shiridi felt orphaned at that time. May be foolish but a thought

crept in to my mind that I should be a party to witness a similar incident

involving death of a great saintly person. Probably this was very unfair on my

part to ask for such a thing to happen. Sai gave me an opportunity and I humbly

place it before the readers. My paternal uncle and aunt, the Somayyajulu

couple has brought me up under their care, and custody, as they were issueless.

My parents were away

in Northern India by virtue of my father's job placement. My uncle was a Telugu

pundit and was instrumental in educating many a poor. They were very

charitable, offered food and shelter to the deserving boys in studies. During

his 78th year he suffered from an attack of fever on 23-01-1992.Myself and his

adopted son admitted him in a local Nursing Home. On 25-01-1992 Doctors after

assessment of all the pathological reports have come to the conclusion that his

chances of survival are bleak. He stopped all oral intakes from 27-01-1992. Shri

Sai also suffered from fever from 28-09-1918 and stopped taking food orally from

01-10-1918. Shri. Somayyajulu's adopted son has completed construction of his

new house and an auspicious date for Gruhapravesh was fixed for 29-01-1992. All

arrangements were made way back. He was now worried whether the program would go

as planned and whether his father would. be present or not for the occasion

after having spent 4.00 lakhs of Rupees. The situation was similar in context

to Shri. Gopal mukund booty's in those days when

he was doubtful whether Baba will ever live in Booty wada specifically

constructed for him after having spent a lakh of rupees as promised. I was a

moved by this pathetic situation and prayed upon Baba to see that my uncle

recovers and fulfills his son and every body's desire. I am happy to state that

Baba has listened to my prayer and he graced the function having come home in an

Ambulance and things appeared going on well. As saying goes "Man proposes and

God disposes", things took a different turn and his position got deteriorated.

On the night of 29-01-1992 itself he was again shifted to Gandhi

11pt;">Hospital. I reached Hospital in the morning of 30-01-1992 and the Doctors

were now less hopeful. I approached my uncle who wanted me to open a page from

Sai Satcharitra and read out its contents. At random I opened a page which

happened to be from 27th chapter and it carried advisory message from Baba to

Khaparde's wife, as follows - " Chant Raja Ram, Raja Ram - If you do this your

life's object will be achieved, your mind will attain peace and will be

immensely benefited ". I read the message, and he started uttering

continuously the Mantra and at noon he wanted me to read Madhyanna Aaarati and

I read it slowly to him in his ears. After completion he again commenced

chanting of Rama mantra. Doctors declared that he is nearing his destiny and

may live only for a few hours. At 13:20 he was not able to pronounce the mantra

and I put "THULASI THEERTHA' once in to his mouth and trial for second attempt

has gone in vain and it spilled out. Baba had a similar end in the lap of Nana

Sahib Nimonkar at 14:30 Hrs. on 15-10-191 8. Shri. Somayyajulu expired in

Ekadasi thithti and Baba left for heavenly abode Dasisimi- Ekadasi transit.

Shri Somayyajulu's mortal remains were brought to his son's newly

constructed house. I bathed his physical body with Gangajal and on 30-01-1992

(Thursday) by evening hours his adopted son performed the last rites. In all

these events I could see and feel Sai's maha samadhi. BOW TO SAI - PEACE TO

ALL --------- 4. SAI IN DREAMS:

http://www.ebeacon.indiainabook.com/ These are the dream sequences

and messages as received by SAIBANISA From our beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF

SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that this feature will help in one's spiritual growth

are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and presented to SAIBANDHUS.

Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY. 01-03-1994 Ongoing

events in the family caused me lot of disturbance. I prayed Lord Sainath to

show me a way out so that I can practice mental detachment while living in

their midst. Baba shown me a visual- I was traveling by a train. It halted at

a wayside station. I got down and was having a stroll as a breather. In the

meanwhile the train picked up motion and gaining momentum. I was in a dilemma

whether I should get into or not. Finally I decided to board and entered in to

the Guard’s cabin. As normal he was fully clad in white dress. He thus advised

me- “Do not resort to anger on your co-travelers and get down in the middle of

the journey. On reaching destination, you will be received by four porters who

will rid you off from the worldly bonds. Exercise patience and be prepared”. It

was an eye-opener for me to choose a way out. Do not let minor hurdles detract

you from the main objective. 03-03-1994 I suffered from chest pain. I asked

Sai to advise me on the ways to keep good health. SAI said -Peace will come only

when distance is maintained and thoughts are set free from the trio causing

mental agony. -Do not pay much attention

to happenings beyond the control. -Be a vegetarian. -Duty is to earn money for

the family and not to monitor the expenditure. -Stop getting into arguments

with relatives and think of God always. Good health or bad health is our own

creation. 05-03-1994 Yesterday, I was mentally upset with my son’s aptitude

and was literally in tears. I simply prayed Lord Sainath and retired to bed. I

could later develop courage to face all odds with the visual presented to me by

Baba. A head of a family expired and his children were staying quite far off.

All his relatives were mourning over the body. His wife’s eyes have gone dry and

was mechanically preparing for performing the last rights. Nobody could notice

an unknown person guarding the area with a gun in his hand. That was SAI. In

the eyes of God nobody is an orphan. God extends his benevolence to all

equally. 08-03-1994 Yesterday, I invited some of my colleagues for dinner.

I criticized and talked loose on one of our senior and retired officer. Having

enjoyed the dinner and the company of my friends, I went to bed with good

recollections of

the day. I got up in the morning and started off for the morning walk. I came

across an old acquaintance after a long gap of time. I received shock of the

day when he said- “Yesterday, I was thinking about you and the senior officer

of yours. Bye the bye how is your relationship with him now”? I felt as if

SAI himself was talking to me. I was deeply engrossed in thoughts as my

attention was drawn to the chapter wherein SAI said – “Never speak ill of

others and indulge in projecting anybody in bad taste. Everything is known to

me and distance is no barrier to ME”. Sai is Omniscient as nothing is hidden

from HIM. To be continued….. ---- 5.

QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY: (By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)

"Shashi": shashi_31 20. On Humanity: Baba always said that God is

only One. He who worships Him under false pretences does not know

Him. Megha was an illiterate and orthodox person sent by H. V. Sathe to

Shirdi. On the way he was told that Baba belonged to a different religion. But

H.V. Sathe prevailed upon him to go. As soon as Megha went to Baba, He was

asked to be kicked out .He will loose his superiority by bowing to Him. Megha

then went away from Shirdi stayed for one and half year at Triyambak. After

some time, he realized that Baba was above all sorts of human classifications,

and thus came back to Baba as his Poojari. When he died in 1912, Baba passed

His hand over the dead body and said ‘he was a real devotee of mine’. All were

equally dearer to Baba. He

particularly favored untouchables such as leper patients like Bhagoji Shinde,

with whom He used to take food and tobacco. Great men opine that division of

humanity is a curse in our society. In spite of general concurrence with their

view, by all the thinking persons, we see the venomous creature very much alive

and vitiating our national verity. Sri Sai Baba says that this ghost is an off

shoot of Maya which itself doesn’t have any existence in reality but subsist in

our ignorance. Even a little reflection on simple humanitarian principles, will

reveal that all human beings are equal in all respects from the womb to the

dust and the intervening inferiority or superiority complex is man made evil

and should go, as soon as possible. To be continued…..

AKHILANDAKOTI , BRAHMANDA NAAYAKA, RAAJAADHI RAAJA, YOGIRAJA, PARABRAHMA SREE

SATCHITANANDA ,SAMARDHASADGURU, SAINATH MAHARAAJ KI JAI” Sai In Ramayan: By

Sri SAIBANISA Gopal Rao Ravada Vengeance Kills: In Ramayan, Kekaya Maharaj

suffered for a great sin committed by him for the sake of momentary pleasure.

When Kekaya Maharaj was young, he had the skill to use his bow against unseen

targets. For the pleasure of exercising this skill, he once killed a love

intoxicated male deer sporting his joy of love with a female deer. The male

deer fell down dead. The female deer seeing her husband dead ran to her mother

to fetch the sanjeevini moolika and bring her husband back to life. The mother

of the female deer begged Kekaya Maharaj to handover the body of the male deer

but Kekaya Maharaj refused. She then proclaimed in anger. “Kekaya Maharaj, in

this birth you have killed my son in law. So in the next birth I will take

revenge and I will be responsible for the death of your son in law and show you

how painful it is” .The mother in law deer was born in the next birth as

Mandhara. Mandhara’s evil counseling to Kaikeyi was the main cause of Ram’s

exile

and later King Dasaratha’s death. Dasaratha had married Kaikeyi, the daughter of

Kekaya Maharaj. This is narrated in Tulsi Ramayan. If one dies with the feeling

of revenge, it will be carried to the next janma. In chapter XLVII of Sai

Sat Charita, Sai narrates this incident. Chennabasappa and Veerabhadrappa were

enemies in their previous birth. They were always quarrelling and threatening

to kill one another. They died and in the next birth, Chennabasappa was born as

a frog and Veerabhadrappa was born as a snake. Once when Sai was scrolling along

a small riverbank, He heard the croaking of a frog and soon found that a huge

black snake was holding a big frog in its mouth. Sai recognized them as

Chennabasappa and Veerabhadrappa. He addressed them, “Have you not forgotten

your enmity? Though born as a

frog and snake, you still maintain enmity against each other? Be ashamed of

yourself. Give up your hatred now and be at rest”. Baba preaches that the

feeling of revenge, whether it is in human being or animal should not be

carried to the next janma. Many people like Megha and Somadev Swamiji had

insulted Baba in the beginning and refused to bow before Him because He was a

fakir. But Baba pardoned them and finally they became His ardent devotees.

Grudge is a very bad vice, and people should learn to forgive and forget

instead of carrying their grudge, birth after birth. The Lord is the humblest

of all In Ramayana, Kaikeyi told Ram that

she wanted her son Baratha to be the heir to the throne and asked Ram to go in

to exile for fourteen years. Ram without the slightest sign of disappointment

or sorrow, said that He would be the happiest person to give the throne to

Bharatha and go to the forest to fulfill His father’s promise. There was in

Shirdi, a very queer person, by name Nanavalli. He once approached Baba who was

sitting in His seat in Dwarakamayi and asked Baba to get up as he wanted to

occupy the same. Baba did not show the slightest displeasure in being dictated

and ousted. He very happily got up from his seat and offered Nanavalli his

seat. Lesson on Charity

11pt;"> Before going to vanavas, Ram donated all his jewels to the poor and

needy people. Even when a Brahmin approached Him on the way, Ram ordered

Sumantha to gift him as many cows as he needed. Rama wore only a bark dress and

carried His bow and arrow as his belongings. Same way Baba used to collect

dakshina everyday from devotees who visited Him, which sometimes amounted to

Rs.500/- . But, He would distribute the money thus collected to poor and needy

people on the same day and the next morning He would be a fakir as usual. Baba

did this to teach His devotees the lesson of Charity and to remove their

attachment to money.

11pt;">------------------------------- SANATANA DHARMA Reincarnation, as a

doctrine or mystical belief, holds the notion that one's 'Spirit' ('Soul'

depending on interpretation), returns to the material world after physical

death to be reborn in a new body. The natural process is considered integrative

of all experiences from each lifetime. A new personality feature, with the

associated character, is developed during each life in the physical world,

based upon past integrated experience and new acquired experiences. Karma is

a concept within Hinduism based on the Vedas and Upanishads. One of the first

and most dramatic illustrations of Karma can be found in the great Hindu epic,

the Mahabharata. Karma in Hinduism is used to explain the problem of evil that

persists in spite of an omniscient, omnipotent, benevolent God. In this it is

related to theodicy. Karma literally means "deed" or "act" and more broadly

names the universal principle of cause and effect, action and reaction which

governs all life. Karma is not fate, for man acts with free will creating his

own destiny. According

to the Vedas, if we sow goodness, we will reap goodness; if we sow evil, we will

reap evil. Karma refers to the totality of our actions and their concommitant

reactions in this and previous lives, all of which determines our future. The

conquest of karma lies in intelligent action and dispassionate reaction. Not

all karmas rebound immediately. Some accumulate and return unexpectedly in this

or other births. -------------------------------- SANATANA DHARMA

–NEWS FROM ABROAD: Hinduism in

11pt;">Malaysia Approximately nine percent of the population of Malaysia is

Tamil Indians, of whom nearly 90 percent are practicing Hindus. Hinduism was

more prevalent in Malaysia in the 15th century. Traces of Hindu influence

remain in the Malay language, literature and art. Indian settlers came

to Malaysia from Tamil Nadu in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of

these came as work force on rubber plantations, while those who were

English-educated occupied more professional positions. A minority of Indian

immigrants to Malaysia during this time period came from Northern India.

Malaysian Hinduism is diverse, with large urban temples dedicated to specific

deities, and smaller temples located on estates. The estate

temples generally follow the tradition of the Indian region from which the

temples' worshippers originate. Many people follow the Shaivite, tradition

(worship of Shiva), in Southern India. Shaivism is a devotionalist grace-based

concept and emphasizes love for the deity, rather than fear. Folk Hinduism is

the most prevalent variety, including spiritualism, animal sacrifice and

worship of local gods. Since the Second World War a revival of Hinduism has

occurred among Indian Malaysians, with the foundation of organizations and

councils to bring unity or to promote reform. Compiled by SaiSevak

OFFERS PRANAMS TO “Kannappa” Kannapa, a tribal hunter, was a devoted

follower of Lord Siva. Once when he offered meat to a Siva linga, a priest at

the

temple objected to that practice. The Lord wanted to test the extent of

Kannapa's devotion. Blood issued from the right side of the Linga. Kannapa

tried to treat it with herbs but failed. So he gauged out his right eye and

placed the eye to cover the bleeding. Then the left eye of the linga began to

bleed. He was about to gauge out his left eye when he was stopped by Siva, who

took him, placed him on his right side and granted mukti. The famed Kalahasti

temple, located near the renowned Tirupati temple is the site of this incident.

Saidarbar: Nalini Mosali, South Carolina, USA I have to tell about one of

my latest experiences! I had lost my admission letter, which was very much

necessary for registration of courses in my school! the next morning was the

last day to register my

courses & I had faintly remembered that I had shown the letter to somebody but I

did not remember who it was! I tried at all my friends’ places but without

success. Then, I realized as usual that my human efforts are unsuccessful and

I sincerely prayed to Baba that "Oh Baba! My father, you know that every moment

I remember you! Why cause me this trouble? You know how important that letter

is for me! Kindly help me in finding it!" thus saying I went to bed having full

faith in Baba as I know He is my best friend! That night, I dreamt of finding my

letter at one of my friend's places just beside the telephone! Next morning I

went to their place with full faith in Baba, I just went directly towards the

telephone and placed my hand on a folded piece of paper, which was undoubtedly

the admission letter

I was searching for! My friend was shocked as he searched for it many times

before at the same place! That was a miraculous experience! I have nothing to

say other than I LOVE YOU MY BABA! Thank you for allowing me to tell about my

divine experience! (This experience was received by Saidarbar during the year

SPIRITUAL GEMS FROM SAI SATCHARITRA swamymain 1/3/2006 22:20:24 -0800

Sai Ram. Let us continue with the Spiritual gems from the last issue. When

Shri Sathe was blessed with a vision of Baba in his dream, he could not fully

understand the significance of the vision and he requested Shri Kakasaheb Dixit

to ask Baba. When Baba told Dixit that Sathe should do one more Saptah, Shri

Hemadpant was near by and he happened to hear. We will take up the story from

there. Sai Ram. "Then Baba replied - "He should make one more saptah of the

book; if the work be studied carefully, the devotee will become pure and will

be benefited, the Lord will be pleased and will rescue him from the bondage of

the mundane existence." At this time, Hemadpant was present there. He was

shampooing Baba's Legs. When he heard Baba's words, he thought in his mind as

follows - "What! Mr. Sathe read for a week only and got a reward; and I am

reading it for forty years with no result! His seven days' stay here becomes

fruitful while my seven years' stay (1910 to m1917) goes for nothing. Like a

Chatak bird I am ever waiting for the Merciful Cloud (Baba) to pour its nectar

on me; and bless me with His instructions." Sai Ram.

We can perceive a small tinge of jealousy in Shri Hemadpant. But let us see

how Baba used that opportunity to bless him and teach him a valuable spiritual

lesson. "No sooner did this thought cross his mind, Baba knew it then and

there. It was the experience of the Bhaktas that Baba read and understood all

their thoughts, and that He suppressed the evil thoughts and encouraged the

good ones." Sai Ram. It was not exactly an evil thought but it was not exactly

a good thought too. Baba heard the cry of a good devotee and decided to help

him. "Reading Hemadpant's mind Baba at once asked him to get up, go to Shama

(Madhavrao Deshpande), get from him Rs. 15/- as Dakshina, sit and chitchat with

him for a while and then return. Mercy dawned in Baba's mind, and so he issued

this order. And who could disobey Baba's order?" The Sadguru is always ready to

help the disciple but has to see whether the disciple is ready. "Hemadpant

immediately left the Dwarakamai and came to Shama's house. He had just bathed,

and was wearing a dhotar. He came out and asked Hemadpant - "How is it that you

are here now? It seems that you have come from the Dwarakamai. Why do you look

restless and dejected? Why are you alone? Please sit and rest, while I shall

just do my worship and return: in the meanwhile you please take pan-vida

(leaves and betel nuts etc.) let us then

have a pleasant chat." Sai Ram. Shama, by Baba's inspiration, spoke what is

needed. He saw the restlessness of Hemadpant and he also told Hemadpant what

Baba ordered, viz., a pleasant chat. Satsang. Very potent in removing obstacles

on the spiritual path. Like this satsang. Sai Ram. "After saying his, he went

inside and Hemadpant sat alone in the front varandah. He saw in the window a

wellknown Marathi book named 'Nath-Bhagwat.' This is a commentary by the Saint

Ekanath, on the eleventh Skandha (chapter)

of the bigger Sanskrit work, the Bhagwat. At the suggestion or recommendation of

Sai Baba, Messrs. Bapusaheb Jog and Kakasaheb Dixit read daily in Shirdi,

BhagwadGeeta with its Marathi commentary named Bhawartha-Deepika or Jnaneshwari

(A dialogue between Krishna and His friend devotee Arjuna) and Nath Bhagwat (A

dialogue between Krishna and His servant devotee Uddhava) and also Ekanath's

other big work, viz. Bhawartha Ramayana. When devotees came to Baba and asked

Him certain questions, He sometimes answered them in part, and asked them to go

and listen to the readings of the above-mentioned works, which are the main

treatises of Bhagwat Dharma. When the devotes went and listened, they got full

and satisfactory replies to their questions. Hemadpant also used to read daily

some portions of the book Nath-Bhagwat." Sai Ram. Baba knew what was going on

when and where. So, He sent devotees to the right place at the right time to

get their doubts cleared. He pulled all the

strings. Similarly he sent Hemadpant to Shama for instruction. "That day, he

did not complete the daily portion of his reading, but had left it unfinished

in order to accompany certain devotees, who were going to the Dwarakamai. When

he took up the book from Shama's window and casually opened, it, he found, to

his surprise that the unfinished portion turned up. He thought that Baba sent

him very kindly to Shama's house for enabling him to complete his daily

reading." Sai Ram. I am sure all of us got similar experiences at one time

or another. "So he went through the unfinished portion and completed it. As

soon as this was over, Shama, after doing his worship came out, and the

following conversation took place between them. Hemadpant :- I have come with

a message from Baba. He has asked me to return with Rs. 15/- as Dakshina from

you, also to sit with you for a while and have a pleasant chitchat and then

return to the Dwarakamai with you. Shama (with surprise):- I have no money to

give. Take my 15 Namaskaras (bows) in lieu of rupees as Dakshina, to Baba.

Hemadpant: - Alright, your Namaskaras are accepted. Now let us have some

chitchat. tell

me some stories and Leelas of Baba, which will destroy our sins. Shama: - Then

sit here for a while. Wonderful is the sport (Leela) of this God (Baba). You

know it already. I am a village rustic, while you are an enlightened citizen.

You have seen some more Leelas since your coming here. How should I describe

them before you? Well, take these leaves, betel nut and chunam and eat the

pan-vida; while I go in, dress myself and come out." Sai Ram. If reading

books is enlightenment, all of us would have been enlightened long ago. Wisdom

and true knowledge comes from deep within after all the intervening layers of

ajnana are

removed. By Baba's grace, Shama was in such an unique position as to explain the

intricate points of discipleship to Hemadpant. "In a few minutes Shama come

out and sat talking with Hemadpant. He said - "The Leela of this God (Baba) is

inscrutable; there is no end to His Leelas. Who can see them? He plays or

sports with His Leelas, still He is outside of (unaffected by) them. What do we

rustics know? Why does not Baba Himself tell stories? Why does He send learned

men like you to fools like me? His ways are inconceivable. I can only say, that

they are not human." With this preface Shama added, - "I now remember a story,

which I shall relate to you. I know it personally. As a devotee is resolute and

determined, so is Baba's immediate

response. Sometimes Baba puts the devotees to severe test; and then gives them

'Upadesh' (instructions). Sai Ram. When the disciple is found to be ready,

Guru gives further instructions and upadesh. Hemadpant's time and turn came at

that point of time. "As soon as Hemadpant heard the word 'Upadesh', a flash

of lightning crossed, through his mind. He at once remembered the story of Mr.

Sathe's Guru-charitra reading and thought that Baba might have sent him to

Shama, in order to give peace to his restless

mind. However, he curbed this feeling, and began to listen to Shama's stories.

They all showed how kind and affectionate Baba was to His devotees. Hemadpant

began to feel a sort of joy while hearing them. Then Shama began to tell the

following story." Sai Ram. We will take a little rest here and will continue

with this chapter in future issues. Sai Ram. S.V.Swamy Author, Editor,

http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/portraits/7.jpg Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada,

Saidarbar, Hyderabad. Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use

to play with children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children

visiting Saidarbar should be entertained with good stories. For the last 2

years I have told you about Lord Krishna's Leelas and Lord Rama Story. Now I

want to tell the stories

what heard in my child hood. The story of the Monkey Construction of a

temple was on outside a town. Near the site, a huge wooden log was being split.

At the lunch, the workers fixed a wedge between the split wood and went to dine.

A monkey had been watching the activities of the workers since morning. When the

workers were away, the monkey descended from the tree and began to meddle with

that log of wood. During the play, he saw the wedge and began to withdraw it.

But he forgot that his tail was hanging between the split ends of the log. As

soon as the wedge was out, the split ends closed squeezing the tail of the

monkey. The monkey tried hard

to get himself free but in vain. No help was available nearby. By the time, the

-------------- 11. ARTICLES FROM SAI DEVOTEES:

"Sankaraiah Dubagunta" sainama SAI ---- SAAKSHAT ISHWAR Sri

Jyotindra, Son of Ramachandra Tarkhad( Chap 9 of SSS) defined the word SAI as

follows -- SA means Saakshat (real), I means Ishwar (God),after experiencing

the Divine powers of Sainath Prabhu in his very first meeting at Shirdi itself.

Baba Himself gave darshan to Jyotindra in Mumbai in the guise of a 'Fakir'. We

are aware that Baba has declared "I require no conveyance, carriage, tonga nor

train nor aero plane" and also "No door is necessary for my entry, I have

neither shape nor size, I am always everywhere”. Yes, Baba's assurances are

always true. One day while Jyotindra was crossing the road to go to school

(St Xaviers, Bombay) after lunch, a Fakir approached him for alms. Young

student gave one copper paisa coin of the year 1894 assuring it was in

circulation. The fakir blessed " Allah Bhala Karega". We will know Baba

preserved the same to return to the boy at Shirdi in his first meeting. How

Tarkhad family was pulled to Shirdi? Mrs. Atmaram Tarkhad i.e., Jyotindra's

mother had a chronic headache, which could not be cured by doctors. The family

of Tarkhads was full of doctors. One of them was personal doctor to the then

Viceroy. Somebody suggested her to approach Pir Moulana Baba residing near

Bandra for

suitable medicines. On seeing her, Moulana Baba advised to go to his brother at

Shirdi for treatment. After getting details of location of Shirdi including

route particulars both mother and son left for Shirdi. The moment Baba saw them

at Dwarakamai; He Himself told they were guided by His brother from Bandra to

Shirdi. He blessed her with a 'Abhaya Hastha' with Udhi and said "Oh, Mother!

from now onwards you will never get headache in your life", she got instant

relief and was surprised to know that Baba Himself did what was required

without their telling Him. Of course this incident laid firm foundation of Sai

devotion in her and son's heart. Jyotindra who was observing Baba's peculiar

treatment for his mother's headache was astonished and fell on Baba's feet as a

mark of gratitude. Then Baba asked

whether he could recognize Him. As he could not Baba narrated how He collected

one paisa copper coin of 1894 while he was crossing the road on his way to the

school. Now Jyotindra could recollect and caught hold of Baba's legs with tears

of joy in his eyes. Then Baba confirmed it was He who received the coin and the

Fakir and Himself were one and the same. To confirm this He showed the same

coin and returned it to Jyotindra for preservation and worship. We know from

the above that Baba in His own mysterious ways pulled the sparrows (devotees)

to Shirdi. OM SAI SRI SAI JAYA

Wallingford-PA- USA Jai Sai Ram New Year Eve Special Satsang – SaiDarbar, USA

On

11pt;">31st December 2005 SaiDarbar USA had a special Satsang to celebrate the

arrival of the New Year 2006. After all the devotees assembled, at around 8:00

PM, Aarti was performed and then Mahaprasad was served. This was followed by

the phenomenal 45 minute Tele talk by Sri Gopal Rao Ravada Ji (SAI-BANISA). On

the topic, "Sai In the Life of his Devotees". He emphasized on the cycle of

Birth, Death and Rebirth by comparing various instances from Bhagawat Geeta and

Sai

Satcharitra. The essence was that Athma never dies but it always takes rebirth.

When atma leaves the body it’s the death and when it enters another body it is

the rebirth. It’s mentioned in the Sai Satcharitra, Chap-ter 3 that Baba is the

Jaganmaatha. God is the paramathma and athma is the part of paramathma. He

quoted a few instances from the Satcharitra, chapter 50 & 36 that Baba told

Balaram Dhurandhar and Shyama that he knows them from past 600 years and 72

Generations respec-tively. Likewise, the same was told by Lord Krishna to

Arjuna that he knows him from his previous births in the Bhagawat Geeta. This

is to ascertain the fact that athma is eternal. He emphasised that whatever

you desire for at the time of your death will be reflected in your next birth

(which is described in the

Preliminary of chapter XXXI of Shri Sai Satcharita). He concluded by saying

that we all accept that rebirth is there, and advised us to do good deeds and

thoughts in the present birth so that we get spiritually uplifted in our next

birth. This of course was the highlight of the evening. Saidarbar USA members

feel very fortunate to have had this incredible opportunity to hear Saibanisa

Uncle speak on such a special occasion. We remain indebted to the feet of our

Lord Sri Sainath without whose blessings this would not have been possible. We

would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Saibanisa Uncle for

taking the time to talk to us and hope to hear many more discourses from him in

the future. And then, till about 11:30 PM the regular Satsang was performed

starting with three Om’s, Gane-sha Shloka followed by Bhajans by the children

and adults. From 11:30 PM – 12:00 AM, Sai Gayatri was chanted by all the

members with utmost devotion, peace and quiet. We observed 2 minute Dhayana

exactly at 12:00 AM and welcomed the New Year 2006 by opening our eyes to view

the life like photo of our dear Lord Sri Sainath. The evening was concluded

by performing Shej Aarti followed by cutting of a delicious chocolate cake. The

devotees dispersed at 1:00 AM. WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY, SAFE AND PROSPEROUS

NEW YEAR!!! Bow to Shri Sai, Peace be

to all SaiBandhu Raghu & Radhika Nistala

--------- 16. EDITORIAL. Things impressed

me from this Magazine: You should know that you will get many people around

you who will go on praising. But it is difficult to find persons who will give

a healthy criticism. So it is your duty to select between a praise and healthy

criticism. A wise government should collect taxes from the people in such a

way as honey bee collects honey from the flowers. Karma literally means

"deed" or "act" and more broadly names the universal principle of cause and

effect, action and reaction which governs all life The way the Alum clears

the dirt from the water, participation in the Satsanghs (company of learned

people) will clear all doubts in the spiritual field.
