HI ALL

RECENTLY A NICE TOPIC REGARDING OPAL WAS RAISED IN THE FORUM.

WHITE OPAL IS USED AS VENUS STONE , AS SUBSTITUTE OF DIAMOND BY MANY

ASTROGERS IN INDIA.

AS PER PLANETARY GEMOLOGY IS WHITE OPAL A GEMSTONE FOR VENUS OR A

GEMSTONE FOR MOON ??????????????????

I INVITE RESPECTED RICHARD SIR AND ALL TO PUT LIGHT ON THIS.

Hi Deepak,

Namaste!!! I have never heard of opal being used in Jyotish. And I have never

worked with

white opal so I can't say one way or the other. But in our practice we won't be

using any

kind of opals.

As per my understanding and knowledge, Opal has been used sparingly for speech

defects during ancient times. It has also found working for education and

minor psychological problems.

Hi Len,

I was wondering if it is public knowledge which gem AB is wearing? Otherwise we

are just

speculating.

The index finger is also associated with Sun and is also called the Sun finger.

It is also

called the ring finger because it is practically the best finger for any ring. I

wear a red coral

and diamonds in a ring on my ring finger. But if I wore it as a pendant it would

be just as

potent.

Jupiter. One would expect a ring with a Moon or Venus ruled gemstone to be worn

on the

pinky or middle finger, wouldn't one?

Dear Deepak,

Namaste!!! Thanks for that information. I was wondering about white opal and you

say it is

"always worn on 1st finger". Why is this the case? I never heard of opal used in

Vedic

culture, nor assigned to any finger nor any planet. What is the authority you

use for Planetary Gemology? Is your idea based on Western New Age beliefs?

HI all

WHITE OPAL IS A SECONDARY STONE ( whose corresponding planet is still

unclear ) .

White Opal has an inherent quality of attraction (Sammohan) . I feel

this is the reason why it is suggested by astrologers to many

film-artists.

But whether this stone co-relates to moon or venus is still a question

of debate as there is no scriptural proof .

It is worn on 1st finger coz in accordance to tradition in arabian

region to wear opal/Firoza on 1st finger. In hindu tradition this

stone was known as upal-mani and was sometimes used for strengthening

6th sense in a human body.

deepak
